Comment:

Dr. K is a very nice guy but his class is boring. He has you get in groups with people you're sitting by and you all sign in for attendance. My advice? Work it out with your group members to cover for each other. The tests are very long and difficult, especially if you aren't a geoscience major. The final group project is what saves your grade.

(I was placed in GEOS140 by my adviser) Prof. K tries his best and is understanding. GEOS140 classes are mostly just long lectures. At the end, there is always a graded group assignment. Be in class or don't get the grade. Group presentation at end of semester. Exams are moderately difficult. Book not used in class, but helps with studying.

Actually took GEOS140 and it was awful. Its a non lab science. Don't take this class if you hate science or not a geology major because he's biased towards. I can't even understand him half the time and the class drags

Dr. K is a great teacher! I have had him for a lot of classes. If you are a geology major you will most likely have him a lot. He loves what he does and is very helpful. He can also be very funny. Just go to class and try and you'll do great. His accent may be difficult at first but it'll grow on you. Great teacher!!

The field trip is the best part of this class, but don't expect a vacation. Dr K is very nice and his lectures aren't bad. I found his quizzes and tests a little difficult, but if you go to class and do the work you will be okay

He has as a tendency to meet requests for help simply by telling you to stop doing something wrong, without actually trying to help you solve the problem. His lectures mostly repeat what can be found in the textbook with little addition. Overall, expect to teach yourself more than he teaches you.

If you are interested in the Earth-this is a GREAT class! Dr. K. is great! He is easy going as long as you show up to class & show an interest in what he is teaching. I am not a Science major, took it in the summer and got an A. I learned so much and was able to relate everything he taught me to the real world. I highly suggest this course.

I enjoy Dr. K. He is a funny guy at times. He does repeat himself a lot, but he is always there if you need the help. The only reason you would fail this class is if you decide not to show for labs or quizzes. The labs are so easy! Tests are a bit harder, but passable. Dr. K always answered any questions I had. He's a good guy.

Dr. K is a very nice man, and it's obvious he cares about the subject matter as well as his students. But he is very hard to follow; he's all over the place. When asking him a question, I just became more confused. He also tends to give an information-overload. He's a great person, but not so great of an instructor.

To other majors he is hard cause he expects u to come to lab but hey your in college right so how bout u dont get **** the night before and then u can come to class! I took him and failed. He was horrible. I asked for help in class and he just insulted me and treated me like I was stupid and that I didn't pay attention to him. I am not a science major and he expected that I got every concept the first time. I took earth science in spring of 06 and got a C. Take someone else...
