Good weed out class for accounting majors. If you are not a 4.0 student, don't major in accounting and intermediate I will certainly help you see the light real quick. Dr. Earles is really hard but if you want to be an accounting major you better be a straight A student or don't bother with accounting.

All I can say is, "Whew!" Definitely a class meant to "weed out" people who think they way to be accountants. In her own words,it's "accounting boot camp." However, Dr.Earles is very helpful and very clear. Lots of class participation and not a lot of lecturing. Don't miss a class or you will be lost! Don't take online if you can help it.

Best teacher I've had at Tech - bar none! I hope to have her in class again. She is so clear about her expectations, but you have to put forth effort. She is definitely not one to give away all A's!! I got an 'A', but I worked my butt off for it! Would take her again in a second!!!! I wish she taught Intermediate II as well!!!

Steps to get an A in Earles. 1. READ the FULL chapters, go to class, WORK the prblms while shes doing them 2. DO ALL the CPA and at least all of the hard exercises that she doesnt assign in the book. 3 Expect ?'s that are a harder variation than in the book. Great teacher, gives hard to earn bonuspts. DO WELL ON 1ST 2 TESTS!final is not that bad!!

I took Dr. Earles for both Intermediate I and Tax. While both were more difficult than not, all you have to do is read the box. Tax is super easy if you just put the time in. Read and highlight your book because you get to use it on tests. Intermediate is more difficult, but if you do all the homework and learn to do it, it is very possible.

Dr. Earles is a great teacher. I've seen a lot of bad ratings for her, but that's because those people don't belong in accounting. Accounting is a very tough major, and she lets you know that. Her class is tough because it should be. She knows how to train people to be great accountants. If you've got what it takes, then you should take her class.

Very unencouraging. Told me to change majors when I had only 12 hours left untill grad. Yes, I had struggled all the way through but she would not take into account that I had "made it this far." When I did do well on one particular assignment, she asked me several questions as if I had cheated. I will be getting my masters at another university.

Dr. Earles is the best teacher I've had thus far at TTU. She's clear in her lectures and she awards extra credit points towards tests during class occasionally which is very helpful. She's always willing to help and very easy to talk to about problems in the class and even outside class. Her exams are hard but really test your knowledge.

I took tax over the summer, so it was rough anyway, but Dr. Earles worked with us. She even loaned me her book when I couldn't get one before the first project was due! As long as you make the effort, she'll help you if she can. ASK QUESTIONS, she assumes that if you don't ask a question you 100% understand the material.

Dr. Earles just wants you to know acct. is hard, if you are in her classes (other than the intro classes) you plan on being an accountant. Those who insult her just couldn't cut it. I made an A and loved her.
