Comment:

Awesome instructor, had an amazing experience. She made math fun, entertaining and she was hilarious. I am glad that I had chosen her as my instructor for my final math class of my associates degree. I was extremely scared to take this math class. Overall, I would recommend this instructor. She will help you if you truly try.

Comment:

She is the best math teacher for someone who doesn't get math as easy as some. She takes the time to make sure you know the material before she moves on. If your having trouble she will go over the problem with you. She never makes it seem like your questions are stupid. Also, after exams she lets you correct your mistakes for some points back.

Very inconsistent with what she says she will do and what she actually does. It's difficult to plan ahead in her class. Extremely slow in returning tests and worksheets.

Comment:

I did not have a bit of trouble with grading time or lost assignments in MTH 107 this quarter (Spring 2017.) Professor Rasmussen was always on time with the new weeks, answered my messages through WAMAP literally within minutes (more than once) and kept an active forum presence (rare for online professors.) She was amazing! Just hope I did well!

i didnt use the 300 dollar textbook and felt it was highly a waste of money, i just took notes in class and used them for the homework/quizzes which were online which i hated. At least the hw online you could keep taking over till you got 100%, she was nice and funny but not sure i would take another class with her again but she wasnt bad..

Melonie is a nice person. She should become organized and manage her time in order to meet deadlines. She repeatedly made promises to have tests and assignments graded by a specific date and failed to meet those promises. Students want to know where they stand, in her class you won't know. She would lose assignments and find them later.

Melonie, along with another instructor at Pierce, wrote their own algebra textbook for the students that costs about ten dollars. Bless these professors and others like them who demonstrate such care for their students and who take their professional responsibilities seriously! A refreshing change of pace from other departments.

Her grading style of taking incredibly too long to respond, sometimes so long that you'd be on your own for an assignment you may have had a question on. It has taken upwards of 7 days to get back to me. If you point out mistakes, she takes it as a threat on her intellect and responds accordingly. VERY late grading, didn't keep promises or deadline

Melonie is a great teacher. I have always struggled with math and she really clarifies everything. She will not give a quiz without first making sure the content is understood. Her due dates are clear and so are her expectations. She has good humor and can explain things in many ways.

I really liked this teacher she was helpful and willing to give feedback and help when needed. The hard part about this class was that I am better at learning math face to face and I took this class online and found it sort of challenging at times.

I hated math until I took her class. I had her for Calc and she was fantastic. She expects you to work hard, but she is also very caring and invested in her students. She is always open for extra help, she listens to you, and if you don't understand something she always has an alternate explanation. Made Calc actually understandable!

Melonie is a very good teacher but the course content is tough. Also she does go through the class rather quick but she is upfront about doing so and will slow down if you ask. She is capable of explaining things to suit your learning style so don't be shy to ask questions. She doesn't a lot of homework but what she gives is meant to help you.

Mrs. Rasmussen is, above all, fair and reasonable. Even if she does not like a person, she will treat them the same as everyone else in her class. Quite a refreshing change of pace from some of the bloated egos floating around campus. If you work hard and put in the effort that she asks for, you will do well under her instruction.

I took an online class and she was awful as an online professor. The class was easy but make sure you know how to attach items to the forum. Also make sure you check the online forum once a day, even if you don't need to do any work because that's how she messages you and if you miss a message, well that's tough luck. Rude too.

Melonie is a great teacher and likes using humorous math examples. She expects you to know a lot of algebra 2 , so she speeds through chapter 1. This is difficult for running start students because your algebra isn't college level. Theres a lot of math homework and she likes giving quizzes and take home projects. Studying is a must for passing.

I took this class very unconfident in my math skills. I had gotten a D in a previous PreCalc class and was very nervous for it. She was very supportive and went out of her way to explain concepts in multiple ways.

Melonie is amazing! She is so helpful and nice. Plus, she's really funny. Her class is really hard but it gave me a sense of accomplishment to finish it! If you struggle with math and need feedback, she's always available. She tells you her office and hours and that you can always come in. I totally recommend this class.

she is really hard and has high expectations, but she is willing to help you and really makes sure that you understand the material. she really prepares you for the next math class(es) that you need to take. if you just want to take a single math class and be done and not learn, then take an easier teacher.
