Comment:
EXTREMELY knowledgeable, is very specific in his requirements for assignments - read carefully and do NOT forget your headers. Doesn't give much feedback but will certainly elaborate if asked. He's very responsive on the discussion boards and does his best to help you with hints and extra reading. Can be a bit difficult to understand at times.

Comment:
Professor Su is not too responsive with emails or questions, and lacks clarity due to a language barrier. Though, if you follow along in class and do not miss lecture you'll learn a lot and be given an intensive experience into operating systems. He grades hard, but forces students to learn the material and concepts. Great professor.

He can be difficult to understand at times, even if you are already really experienced it makes it difficult, but he does care to give really good feedback to actually help you understand. This can make it difficult for some, also make sure you already know quite a bit of C++ before going into the course or you will struggle. Study data structures.

Unclear in his lectures, but you can work from the powerpoints. This defeats the point of learning on campus, from an instructor. Oh well. He's embedded.

Very good professor. A little hard to understand but he's a very good programmer. Multiple times I'd have errors in my code and he could scan in and in seconds point out any errors. Very interested in helping his students understand material and pass the course. Can't wait to take 465 with him.

Su is hard to understand. He tries hard to answer questions but sometimes just makes it worse because you can't understand what he is saying. Class is REALLY boring because he just shows powerpoints and talks the whole time every day.

Very good professor. Do your work and show up for class you should get a good grade. His exams are not difficult but sometimes unexpected, he will sometimes use many multiple choice and other times have much proof writing. I would take him for another CMPSC course and have in the past for 122.

It wasn't until 3 or 4 weeks into the course that I figured out when he said 'Messer' he really was trying to say 'Method', and when he said 'Capature' he was really trying to say 'Garbage'. Other than that, his english isn't bad though he does say 'datas' though it has no plural tense. He failed to understand many student's questions. Take McCarty

Nice guy; occasionally hard to understand due to the accent. His lectures are incredibly boring, but the powerpoint slides are great for studying. Assigns a lot of work too. Overall, a decent professor.

Meng Su is a really fair professor. He is willing to help you with anything. If you want an A in the class: go to every class, work on the labs with partners because is makes it easy to understand it, definately study the syntax of everything, and ask Meng Su! Besides tests being somewhat hard (but fair). I would recommend him as a professor.

Not only were the PowerPts boring, and well, pointless, he was BARELY understandable. Hearing him say "pointer" might be funny, but it pisses you off after the 9534 time. I took notes diligently at the beginning of the couse, and studied for hours, only to see Test 1 and wonder why I spent all that time. The book was crap, and assignments were also

Good prof, more than willing to help you, just not an easy class. Tests are as unpredictable as always(it's Meng Su, after all!) but you shouldn't have much trouble if you take the time to study. Sometimes hard to understand, but he does speak english pretty well. If you think his English is bad, go take a few CENBD classes with Byun, He, or Ludek.

I dont know if it was him or the material, but this was incredibly boring. Mostly didn't understand things until doing hw and looking at the odd answers in the back to understand where answers came from. Spoke good english, but put you to sleep with the overuse of powerpoint
