Shelton has a huge heart always giving back to community. She is a great speaker and has assignments that are fairly easy do all the work and you'll get a good grade she is not a hard grader

Shelton thinks she knows what she's talking about. The majority of the class involves vague explanations of how to set up a childlike argument. There is only one debate in the class that takes place at the end which seams a bit counterproductive since this is (or should be) a debate class. Don't take this class, you'll learn almost nothing from it.

Ms. Shelton is a tough grader. Be prepared to argue coherently with valid points and clear analysis. If you have yet to develop a backbone, avoid this class. She will be tough on you and encourage that you advocate for yourself especially,if you have a disability. Do all the assignments and final. Come to class on time or your going to fail.

Shelton is very knowledgeable on current and past events around the world, many of her "lectures" are interesting but not very relevant. Speak up in class, be on time, and go to her office hours. Most assignments are posted on her pinterest, and lack clear instructions and guidelines. Instead of teaching argumentation, she uses her time to push her political agendas. Assignmentsessays aren't graded on any sort of standards other than her opinion. Content of work does not matter, just make sure it jives with her views and looks pretty

teachers like Shelton are the reason this website exists. First off do not take her at all cost. She really likes to ramble on about noting that has to do with the class or the assignments, oh and also she is not clear about the requirements for the assisnment. last and not least if you like being treated with respect on any level dont take her!!

This class was very challenging but if you show up, pay attention, and turn in your work on time you will pass the class. Practicing the speeches are key so don't think you can read off your paper and expect an A. She is a no nonsense professor but fair. Do the extra credit because it’s well worth it.

Shelton is a wonderful Professor and a beautiful woman. She makes you critically view and discuss controversial issues... so if your closed minded, immature or not ready to critically think for yourself this course isn't for you. She is very involved with her community both on and off campus;a good connection to have when transferring to a 4 year.

This course is definitely challenging and extremely overwhelming for Intersession; four speeches, various impromptus speeches, outline checks, 10 pt lab reports, and a ridiculous "final exam", all in 3 weeks. The only thing I learned in this class is how to turn in a great outline. Otherwise, Ms. Shelton just rambles on and on. Would not recommend.

Professor Shelton is a very harsh grader and can be rude when giving critical feedback. Her treasure hunts are miserable. Even with extra credit, she will knock your grade down to a C if you get a location mixed up. She grades by her emotions. If she likes your personality, you might do ok, otherwise, good luck passing!

Should have checked this site prior to taking her course. The outline was hard to follow, homework and projects were unclear, lab reports were never explained. If you ask for clarification, she will tell you you're an adult you can figure it out, "it is not my responsibility to explain to an ignorant person" and say you do not belong in college.

She used us to solve her own problems and then blamed us with no appreciation, All she ever does is talk about herself or talk as if she knows everything and gets pissed when you try to defend your side. I took this professor the first semester at SJCC. She's the poster- child for why this website exists. I literally learned nothing from her. I've had some pretty bad teachers at SJCC, but she's the worst teacher there. She talks about herself the whole time. You'll learn nothing, and then get some subjective grade- and it won't be a good one.
