Black is an arrogant perfectionist, I was an "A" English student before his class. He will embarrass you publicly, rip your paper to shreds and I don't think the man has ever handed out an A - but he knows his craft. If you can listen past his vitriol & survive his class, you'll emerge a much stronger writer for your pain.

I can't beleive this man is still teaching.He was more interested in his singing. He used to brag how good a singer he was.Please avoid this man.He would not answer your questions clearly. Mr. Black also has his own code for correcting term papers with all kinds of symbols that have to be decoded with his chart he hands out. Horrible teacher!

This guy is the worst piece of "S" that ever existed. His name is professor Black but we called him professor "N" word. It's ironic cause he is old and Jewish. The name thing became a trend. We would say time for professor "N" word's class.

C'mon I think some of you are being a tad bit hard on the guy. He's an excellent professor,and knows his material. Gives you great background the literature discussed in class. He may be tough on paper grading, but that's only because too many professors let students slide on mistakes. He's only making sure you can actually write.

I didn't realize English Literature was this difficult until I met this professor. He is quite arrogant and does not care at all about the students. I had to drop this class and lose all my money. I tried to stick it out with him for a month, but then I realized I was just wasting my time with him.

This old guy made our lives horrible. If it happens for you to have an accent, he's gonna make your life miserable. He barely teaches anything. Lots of ppt presentations, readings, essays. Well it's true. You will bust your ass for a semi-decent grade (B+), but you will learn something and he is always offering to help with papers. It's just that no one takes hiim up on it. I like that he's thorough. Your writing will improve. Take him if you're up for a challenge.
