Comment:

He's probably best choice for OB. Grades come from 3-4 tests, group project and exam. Don't have to read the book except for the few sections he tells you to look at. Most of test material comes directly from lectures. Little effort required other than putting in time for studying as the tests require you to really know the material.

Comment:

I really enjoyed Org Behavior. This class gives good information about organization commitment and motivation in employees. Dr. Blum was great and I highly recommend him over other profs if you want to learn the material. He has taught this class for 30 years and can tell you page numbers from memory. Read the book. Get a good group for the project

Dr. Blum is a very kind individual, however taking OB with him was a bit of a struggle. You are given 2 full tests, 2 half tests, the final, and a group project. Because there is no homework in the class if you get a C on a test it will really pull you down. Don't expect to get your grades back within a week.

Dr. Blum is a nice guy, but lectures are dry and boring. Posts lectures online, so you do not need to come to class, but he does random attendance days and if you miss 3 your grade is impacted. No homework ever. 1 test + 1 mini test + midterm + final + 1 group project final grade. Gives study guides for all but mini test. Tests follow study guide

Dr. Blum is good about working with students outside of class, but he managed to turn what could have been an interesting topic into one that was pretty boring. He's very knowledgeable in the field, but doesn't always present the material in a way that is interesting to students. All lectures are posted online, so attendance isn't a very big deal.

Comment:

Blum is one of my favorite teachers. He keeps things simple and covers only the things he wants you to know. Make sure you study all diagrams. He is nice and helps during office hours. One group paper, make surer you get a good partner, but even with a bad one it was still easy. Only got B because I misunderstood a concept for the first test.

He doesn't take attendance, but lectures are super helpful and important for test prep. His tests are hard and get very detailed. Blum was a pretty good teacher and I usually enjoyed his lectures, but getting an A is very difficult. I got a B and that was fairly easy to obtain.

If you aren't a management concentration, don't bother with taking Blum. The class isn't much work, but the tests and project were all pretty tough. Blum isn't a bad teacher, there's just no use to taking a difficult OB class if you aren't studying management. If you do end up taking him, take good notes in lecture because his tests come from it.

Dr. Blum is a nice guy, but a fairly boring and distracted professor. He knows his stuff, but often stops writing diagrams halfway through so you never really learn it. Read the textbook before class and try to connect the dots to his lecture in class and you'll have a lot better of a time. Only 3-4 students get A's, just to warn you.

Dr. Blum lectures from powerpoint and most of his material comes from the book but some he also includes external material. He provides a lot of examples and speaks slowly but sometimes has a hard time communicating certain info. His tests are pretty hard cause his short answer questions are more like essays. Somewhat approachable. Attend class!

This class is super boring, common sense stuff. Dr. Blum is very nice and approachable, but I wouldn't call him "helpful" per se. Make sure to know EVERYTHING about the models. Paying attention in class and studying versus playing solitaire is probably helpful. Good luck!

He knows his material, and teaches it in a very straightforward manner. That is why you should take him. You might want to consider his droning voice and lecture style approach to class though if you have sleep problems. He's very helpful outside of class, and kind while doing it too.

Class was dry and kind of boring but that was mostly due to the obvious nature of the material not his presentation (which didn't help). I thought the class was easy and received an A without too much effort. No homework and only a short group project (10 pages). Will try to help out during office hours or after class.

Dr. Pluard (aka Blum) is a real humdinger of a professor. His lectures are pretty boring but you don't have to go to class. Just study his powerpoint's and the book and it's an easy B. He's always available to talk over a few sandwiches at Ryle hall.

I never even bought the book, and got an A. He's very nice, easy to talk to, and helpful. The material does tend to be pretty boring, but he makes class interesting, so it's not just 80 minutes of boring lecture. I'd take him again.

Not good. I did not like this professor at all, and that could be because the material he teaches is common sense. You don't even need to go to class. It's a waste of time, and you don't learn a thing... I usually learn something in my classes at Truman, but not this professor's OB class. I learned nothing.

Dr. Blum is an awesome teacher. He made class very interesting. Tests are pretty easy if you go to class. You don't necissarily have to read the entire chapter if you just read the topics he gives you and if you have fun with his writing assignments you'll do great! (He's sometimes ditzy), but if you have the chance TAKE HIM!
