He posts his powerpoint lectures online as well, so you don't have to go to class each meeting time. This is like a hybrid class. Normally he has 3 exams which is 75% of your grade and 25% is assignments. He gives extra credit too! He is a caring teacher. Would take his lecture class than his lab.

He really means well but I wouldn't say he was the best professor I ever had. He jumps around too much and teaches things that you don't have to learn sometimes. He's nice and really wants you to get the concept. But he grade only on three exams which if you don't know word for word you won't pass with higher than a B

Professor Canute is very informative. He explains difficult concept well. Try to REALLY pay attention and listen to him during lecture. It will help you to understand the concept easier. For his exams, make sure you completely understand the lessons because his test questions are not very straightforward. Overall, he's a great instructor!

BIOL 2032: He is very lecture heavy and elaborates more on what's on the powerpoint, which is good and will help you understand difficult concepts. His class is strictly based on exams, take good notes and review the powerpoints. Grade: B+ BIOL 2033: He is very straight forward and tells you what you need to know for the quizzes. Grade: A-

I personally really enjoyed Canute as a professor. He is very funny and enjoyable but also informative! He is very straightforward. He can be confusing but he will clarify if needed. His intelligence radiates off of him in his way of teaching but he knows his stuff! I definitely recommend him for A&P2. Had I known, I would've taken A&P1 with him!

Professor Canute is a great teacher. I don't understand how he has bad reviews on here. He is a little confusing at times, but what teacher isn't? There are some concepts that you need to self teach yourself but it's not bad. His tests are not hard at all. If I had known how good of a teacher he was last semester, I would've taken him for A&P 1.

He talks way too fast and I don't understand a word he's saying. He doesn't put up the powerpoints on time (usually right before class starts). He tells you information that is not on the exam but, doesn't specify what he wants you to know. After every exam, the average grade is a D. Zips through information & doesn't show that he cares for student

Comment:

Professor Canute is a great lab teacher! I took him for one semester and I was glad I took that class. He usually reviews the week before what he plans to put on the quiz. If you study, then it will be an easy A. He answers any questions you may have and is enthusiastic about his class. Very laid back and easy quizzes.

I am not sure why everyone has negative things to say about him. Is it a hard class? Of course, but I found lecture test very easy and fair. I highly suggest studying the power points and reading the chapters. Study hard as any nursing student should and it is an easy A!

All I have to say is that Professor Canute means well. Hes funny, EXTREMELY smart, and always upbeat butttt... reads right off his power points and has extremely hard lecture tests. His lab is much easier and he tells you what you need to know for the weekly quizzes. I would not recommend taking his lecture class but he is a great lab teacher!

His lectures are pointless. He reads off the powerpoint, speaks quickly, skips through a lot of information, and goes off tangent on topics. No hw or quizzes, solely based on 3 exams (1 exam 4 chapters) which are multiple choice. Not helpful or clear when asked questions & doesn't tell you what is on exams. Class average: C. AVOID TAKING HIM

He's a busy professor and often wouldn't meet with students out of class. Lectures a very dry even with his attempted humor. He is really knowledgeable about biology and anatomy, but has poor interaction with students. USE THE BOOK! He wont tell you to read but take the initiative.

He talks about zebra fishes a lot when it doesn't have to do with anything with anatomy. He also talks very fast and we end up skipping a lot of the material. He told us that we would post a study guide for his exam but he never did.

Downloading the lecture slides and reading the textbook got me through this class. Lecture was a waste of time. Nice guy, but doesnt remember his students even if you go to class EVERY time. Got better grades on exams when I just read the textbook during his lectures.

The class was pretty simple. You really have to dedicate yourself to reading the textbook. Mr. Canute tries to make the lecture enjoyable and funny. Sometimes he throws in some of his personal experiences. The great thing is that he can answer any question you have. Really helpful teacher. Exams are easy if you simply study.
