Michael is very funny and kind, knows what he's talking about in film/production, and has great taste in tea and flannels. Compared to my other Cinema 101 prof Michael was a breath of fresh air. Doesn't expect the world from you and is fair and constructive with feedback.

Michael wasn't initially supposed to be my teacher but I'm glad he was! I took the newly added course and he made everything clearly understood and was always willing to give assistance if you need it. A very nice guy that knows a lot, I would definitely recommend him!

Comment:
Michael is a great and unique guy. He has an appreciation for all things film, even sees good in the bad. His expectations aren't always clear but he has fun with the class and there is a lot of information thrown at you. Sometimes his technique is to let you figure it out on your own, film needs some structure so that theory dead ends sometimes.

Michael has been one of my more favorited instructors thus far in the film dept. You hit the ground running in this class. Come week 1 with several pitches for potential docs. By week 3, you really need to have narrowed it down. Great feedback and angles to pursue. Quick to respond to emails. Lecture could drag on but overall I recommend.

Michael seemed like a really nice person. He was a pretty good teacher. There were some times where he didn't make all of his expectations exactly clear, and therefore we weren't ready with the assignments he was expecting the next class, but other than that the class is solid, and as long as you attend and do the work you should be fine!

I've had Michael for two classes now (Production II and Producing II) and he is a really nice guy. He can sometimes let his views get in the way of a lecture, but I suppose that's expected. All around experienced and fair. Makes class fun too. Recommened.
