Prof. Carpenter is a wonderful. His classes are detailed & note heavy. He is fair & if you are serious about his class & attendance is good yet struggling he is more than happy to help you out. As a retired officer he is very serious about his field/class & it will definitely help your grade if he sees you are a well. Participation matters here.

Comment:

Professor Carpenter was by far my favorite professor. I wish I'd been a criminal justice major so I could've taken more than the two classes I had with him. Excellent lectures, always brought in his personal experience which I loved and the tests were fair (study! you shouldn't expect a grade you didn't work for) I looked forward to his classes!

Professor Carpenter is a super nice guy, always there to help, and his lectures are super interesting because he like to crack jokes and make things interesting. Expect to have homework every week and the homework's are LONG and take forever to do. Other than that tests are easy as long as you pay attention to the powerpoint and what he says!

Comment:

Professor Carpenter is an amazing teacher. I felt more interested in his class than in any others. I had his class at 9:30 am and I still looked forward to it. He uses real life examples in lecture and makes it easy to remember things. Very hilarious and always puts on a good show! Tests are straight from the notes and super easy if you keep up.

I took carpenter a lot, often he can be very very arrogant , and somewhat degrading. his tests were bearable, but far from easy. He would get sidetracked often by letting other students ask questions that didn't relate to the class at all. (Also, i think he looks a lot like stephen colbert)

Comment:

The best professor I have ever had. He is helpful, funny, and teachers your something new each class. When I first took his CRJ 103 class I thought I would be bored and only took it for the Substance Abuse Major but he made me change my major to Criminal Justice because I found it so interesting. He is by far my favorite professor.
