This professor talks a lot and is kind of full of himself. You don't have to listen to what he's saying if you're taking this class just as GE. Just read the book and remember its main points and definitions, and you'll be fine. I'd recommend to do the extra credit presentation, doesn't take much time. Boring, long lectures.

This is one of the WORST speech class I ever took at De Anza. He is very dull and awkward. I would NEVER want to take his class, AGAIN!

STAY AWAY WASTE OF TIME. All he does is go on about his own personal experiences in his life. Most of what he lectures have very little to do with the class and what will be on the test. He shouldnt be teaching this class at all & all work is just reading the Assigned Book. This should be taught ONLINE since there are only 3 tests & 2 papers.

His lecture could be super boring and long. He talks a lot in his lecture. 2 midterms, 2 papers , 1 final are going. exams are easy if you read the textbook carefully. DON'T RELY ON HIS STUDY GUIDE! All you do is reading the book . You don't need to listen his lecture or take notes. I missed a lot but that was fine.

His lectures maybe boring, but if you try listening to them, you will find that they are very inspiring and interesting. The key thing is that you MUST read a book! It would be just right if you spend 2-3 hours a week reading one chapter, and take notes if you can. His writing assignments are not too hard, and he's also an easy grader. I got an A+

Dr. Chang talks a lot during his lectures but its mostly on something that is not related to what is going to be on the test. He is somewhat careless because I turned in my essay late and I still got an A on it without any deduction. (he said late papers would be deducted half a grade) Do extra credit, READ,3 exams ONLY on reading.3 papers&Interviw

Dr. Chang is a really cool prof. He opens your eyes to view many different perceptions of culture. He does talk alot but he's a prof. What do you want him to do? One interview assignment and a personal culture assignment. 3 tests, roughly 15 points each. Just show up Do your projects at home Even do the EASY extra credit also Easy A/B class

This class is an Easy A. I don't know why there are bad reviews about him. He talks the ENTIRE time which can get boring. The class is based on total points, out of 100. There are 3 tests, the third test (ch9-12) is the final. Easy class, all you have to do is read the chapters to pass. Two writing assignments, again, not hard. Take him!

His ICS class should be renamed "Life of Michael Chang" because that's all he talks about. He rarely talks about what's on exams, so read on your own to pass. However, he is willing to give feedback and help if asked on things like essays.

Comment:
Dr. Chang's ICS 22 class is not inspirational in the least. The class was easy but nonetheless boring and unenthusiastic. He may have been a good mayor of Cupertino but his passion and interest in this class was lacking. He is unreasonable and gives little to no concern about his students. He would complain about his students but never take action.

Warning: Do NOT take his hybrid class. He is fairly new with the process and expects you to read at home while he vents in class. He expects you to read one chapter per week (which is not difficult) but he has quizzes every week: 5 questions, each question is work 6 points. When he makes errors on quizzes he doesn't give you credit...

His lectures are SUPER LONG and SUPER BORING, unless you participate and are passionate for intercultural communication. For the most part, people just show up and play on their phones. However, you do need to read to pass the tests, although I passed without reading, to be honest.

The book and assignments make you think and work hard which helps you learn, but lectures remind a conversation with a parent, not professional, seems long. Many students leave in the middle of the class. Group conversation assignments aren't specific.

I took ICS7 and ICS 20 with him... He is an easy A. Actually the only thing you need to do is read the book carefully for the tests and that's it. No homework just essay. He gives 10% of extra credit, take advantage of it!Make sure you are awake in his class because it's long lectures and boring. Attendance is not mandatory!

One of my favorite professors. He has a soothing voice, which may not help if you're sleep-deprived. I enjoyed his lectures, as they were thought-provoking. This course had made me aware and sensitive of different cultures. Definitely read the book, which is pretty cheap and easy to read. Reading the book will guarantee a passing grade.

this class was OK. It was an easy A and if you show up, you don't really have to talk besides when you have group discussions which last for like 5 minutes of the class out of the one and a half hours you're there. He's not a bad teacher but he's not great either. Want an easy A? take it. Want to fulfill a GE easily? Take it. Easy but not fun.
