Overall strong prof, though you've been warned: always raise your hand if you want to ask a question! That said, generally receptive to questions and a good lecturer. The course pack is well-curated, and it's refreshing to actually read research papers rather than textbooks. Know the reading guides well - they are exactly what will be tested

This prof teaches well. He explains things clearly but there is A Lot of material. The tests are VERY specific. You really have to study. But if you do, you will come out of this class with a greater understanding of who you are. At least I did. There are 3 exams only and while there are powerpoints I really recommend attending the lectures.

Read the coursepack + all lectures, answer all questions on the test and get a C / C + the subject itself is interesting, but I wish I read it on aside and not taken this class for credit. I would never recommend this prof, not a fair grader!

I LOVED this course with Conway. Sure, you'll need to read a lot of stuff and know the readings well, but he gives you a reading guide to know what he will ask for on exams. You're graded on 2 midterms and a final. Material covered in class is really interesting.

I enjoyed Conway's classes. He knows his stuff and if you're interested in the research then this is a good class for you. I know some people find his exams difficult but I find that after the first one the rest are way more manageable since you know what to expect. He sticks to the same format. If you do the reading guides you'll do well.

textbook is a course pack which makes it a lot more specific and easy to follow since he gives reading guides explaining exactly what you need to know for the exams. his powerpoints are really good too. study class notes and readings and you'll do fine. his exams are a little tough but not impossible.

A lot of materials, but his classes are really interesting. The course pack is cheap compared to other classes. The reading guide tells you what you have to know for the short answers. If he didn't have time to cover the material, it won't be in the exam. He answers all your questions and if he doesn't know the answer, he'll get back to you!

His lecture are really interesting, but he is a really tough grader! Our average class was low actually. I wouldn't recommend him, never. Be ready to read, study a lot cause he asks specific questions on the reading and research and doesn't care if you pass or not, he is made to work in research not as being a teacher. Goodluck if you have him!

Excellent teacher, conveys the information in a very real-world sort of way. You feel like you are truly being educated instead of being "taught" in a cookie-cutter way. Course pack makes up the majority of the exams and the reading guides he prepares for you are 100000% useful for the exams and actually fun to answer.

3 exams with MC and 4 half page SA Qs. You really need to know everything. There are long articles (6-8 per exam) to read w/ reading guides that you need to know every detail of, as well as needing to know every detail in the slides. Very fair questions though, If you know your stuff you'll do well. KNOW THE RESEARCH ARTICLES for SA especially!

Dr. Conway is very informed and passionate about social psychology. However, beware of his exams. Multiple choice questions are misleading (more than an average multiple-choice), he assigns long readings with equally long reading guides that he expects you to know explicitly for his exams (In Figure 1.3, they said this etc.). Would not take again.

Material is interesting. Lectures and Readings are on same principles, but there is a lot of different info to cover for each unit. He is always up to date on the latest research, which is pretty awesome. He is easily the most professional prof Ive had at Concordia. He encourages questions and almost always has a well informed answer. Study hard.

2 midterms and a final. Exams consist of MC, and short answer questions (redraw graphs and summarize studies from lectures and readings). He designs his own coursepack, so the lectures don't always match up with the readings. You will learn a lot, he's extremely professional. He's a leading researcher in the field, so he makes you work for it.

I loved the class and I think he is a great teacher. Indeed, a loaded class but exams are pretty straight forward...but hard (know the assigned readings in detail). Despite what other raters said, he admits marking mistakes and will give you points for it, but only if you really deserve it.

His Emotions class is pretty good. He explains well and the material is actually interesting. I found his exams to be fair (3, non cumulative) and he is a fair marker for short answer. He really tries to engage the students and give real life examples. No paper but a coursepack with articles. Overall, I would recommend taking his class!

Interesting but very lecture-based. Big Workload: coursepack w/ challenging research articles that you need to know in detail (despite what he says before the exam), lecture slides consisting of 8+ studies per class, and a 10p paper where he requires 2 drafts + final and 4 printed highlighted articles. Exams not cumulative. A is possible but hard.

Not surprised to see some negative comments here, although I found him to be an excellent teacher. Extremely knowledgeable, communicates his knowledge well. The course readings were superb - interesting and challenging. He is extremely anal about some things. Very good at controlling the class in terms of noise, etc. Good students will like him.

WORST teacher i have ever had. Does NOT admit mistakes he makes grading exmas (tells the class to write him a note then never responds). Second,AMBIGUOUS exams based on courspack with confounding research. He's VERY anal about final essay requirements. Totally unapproachable and arrogant. Definetly stear clear of this one.
