Its hard to imagine that he passed away. He was a very dedicated professor and cared about his students. His exams were pretty through and hit on many of the topics covered in class. His online quizzes and hw were very helpful and helped me get a B+ in the class. He and Dr. Bott had a lot in common in the fact that Gorman hated other school shirts.

I was not so much into his class when he said his class was an easy A. But now that he's gone, I wish I should tried to be a better student. R.I.P. Dr. Gorman.

Michael Gorman was a kind and unique man that I will miss. I took physics from him in 1996-1997. He passed away this morning so not need to rate him as a professor. He was a good friend of mine and he will be missed by many. Rest in peace Michael...you will be missed

Dr.Gorman wanted everyone to do well and did everything he could to make sure we did. Class was challenging and required a lot of time and effort but he was understanding and made sure we were rewarded for our effort.

Such a good and understanding professor. He was always willing to help any student who asked for help. Exams were fair, and he would provide hints to the types of questions on the exams.

Dr. Gorman is an incredible instructor and a very interesting individual. I would recommend him for any course you need to complete. He makes it very clear what type of information will be covered on the exams and provides plenty of opportunity to practice. As long as you're willing to go to class and put in an effort, you'll do very well.

This professor is GREAT. Homework and quizzes are moderately difficult, not overwhelming, and very helpful in learning the material especially for the tests and final. The tests were exactly as he described them, no suprises. if you can, take this professor's class.

Never a boring class with him. He's funny, but can be politically incorrect at times.Tests are fair, but can be confusing.Read the book and do more than the assigned homework problems.3 tests and a final plus homework and quiz grades.Gave bonus probs on all tests.Overall an easy teacher if you try.Seems to be lenient to those that try.

He was an average professor most of what people wrote in other comments is correct except he does do a good job teching those who are willing to study outside of class but his tests which he says are easy are actually fairly hard because he expects students to take a word problem and turn it into math not like in high school people alot more hard.

This professor changed the way I look at the world. He was facinating in class! The way he explains physics could make evn the worst case people interested. I am VERY glad to see he is still gracing the world with his lectures. It has been 26 years since I studied under Mr. Gorman and I still remember his style and knowledge.

Comment:
He is a bitter odd man. He is prone to changing his mind over any issue. His tests are doable but his grading is inconsistent and wrong. Material on the test comes from problems he works in class and his old tests. The only problem is he often makes errors on his in class problems. It was easy to get a B or a C. but the A is elusive. A = 94 - 100.

Comment:
People who "get" Physics just get it and it's hard to explain to someone who doesn't. It's makes teaching Physics very challenging. That being said, Dr. Gorman is incredibly helpful during office hours. He tends towards crabbiness in class, but so what? He does a better job of explaining things than most. I recommend him.

Comment:
He makes a lot of mistakes during his lectures and doubts himself. He is not responsive to questions because he'll belittle you like you are an idiot. Also he'll stand in front of the projector while lecturing and won't move out of the way, even if you ask him politely. He also puts material on the test that he just taught the day prior to it.
