He's easy and kind. All you really need for this class is the Connect online account its cheaper than buying the hardcover book and you get the ebook with the class assignments/homework included. Really good at lecturing, will help you with anything you don't understand. Would recommend for anyone who needs to take ACT 211!

The material was a bit boring. This was a fairly demanding class, I was not expecting it to be, but I feel like I learned a lot. Professor Griffin is a great lecturer and has a great personality. I have taken him twice since enrolling to UMass and can say he is very intelligent, knows his material, and cares about his students. Totally recommend.

Comment:

Personal Finance online was a breeze. Read the chapters, learn smart module, homework,quiz, repeat. No time limit for the the 3 exams as long as you submit by the deadline. Mini-case final project was easy, fun and relative to real world. Course was very straightforward. Professor provided video lectures and additional resources in addition to book

Professor Griffin is very knowledgeable in the Finance field and is able to put a spin on things like no other. Online classes uses the McGraw-Hill portal for homework so that you can get ahead if you have the time. Syllabus was descriptive and followed to a T. Taking him again, next semester, and excited about it which says a bunch!

Not helpful. Lost work turned in and claimed he never received it (I kept work in a folder on computer with dates/times of work) still wouldn't accept the work though he misplaced it-then said it didn't matter anyway; would've made the difference between a strong A- and a mid B+. Was also my advisor-terrible. NOT there for you though means well.

Great prof overall. But DO NOT EVER BE LATE TO HIS CLASS. he gets offended. but if you ever have a question ask him after class or email him and he is genuinely happy to help, and cares about his students success.

Besides the huge SUA project at the beginning of the semester, the semester wasn't that bad. I learned a lot through excel and he kept the subject interesting. He is very involved in the internship program and is always willing to help all you have to do is ask.

Guy is a stud. Great teacher, cracks a lot of jokes and knows what he is talking about. He's just an all around great guy, he has 3 tests that are worth 60% of the grade and the rest is homework and attendance, overall. no excuse too not get a C+ or better.

Don't take online in summer unless you can do a semester's worth of a project in the first week! Grades down, not up. Since there are no one else teaching this course, your stuck. The only thing good about him is that this is the only accounting course he has. He is NOT available unless you pull teeth. Terrible.

Prof. Griffin is a great teacher. His lectures are easy to follow and understand and his tests are fair. If you use the software, do your homework and pay attention this class is an easy A. For the last two tests he allowed my class to use a cheat sheet. Test are also scaled! Will take him again.

He knows the material just is awful at teaching it. He's far from easy but he's not impossible. It's definitely possible to get a good grade, you just really have to work for it. Also the tests are brutal!!
