Really good teacher, really teaches the class rather than just talking. Little homeowork, hard tests and re-writing essays available. Super nice guy and makes things interesting!

He looks like Laslow from 'Real Genius'. Plus he really is a genius, the best teacher I've had at Elmira, and the only teacher worth listening to. He always gives unique perspectives on what we read, and always helps you out with papers. My favorite teacher ever!

KisKis is intelligent, witty, and insightful. He cares about his students and his passion for literature. He makes you look deeper into what you have read and forces you to think. Thank God for this man. I may not have always agreed with him or liked all the books I read but he indeed taught me many lessons, which I will carry on throughout my life. His honesty out shines all his other aspects, oh except for his hair. He knows I'm kidding. Hats off to u. Gene I will never forget Puddin' Head Wilson, my fav!

Kiskis rocks. He's funny, interesting, and completely understanding about grades and students. He gave us two days off, just because we didn't want to be in class. He expects you to pay attention, but if you do the reading and participate, you'll enjoy class.

Comment:
American lit was lecture based and on a ton of literature. The very few grades (final, midterm, and paper) can make the class very difficult. However, Dr. Kiskis is always willing to talk to students during office hours and help them.

You have 3 grades all term (papers) so you need to do well, but you can rewrite them. He expects you to do the reading (a lot) and gets upset with the class when its not done. Its a boring lecture class, but hes very smart. Up to you!
