Great teacher.Very clear and doesn't take attendance but you should go to class because that is pretty much what the tests are based on. You do have to read a bit, there are 7 mini themes out of which he picks the 5 highest grades, there are 3 tests total and he grades your participation as well. Overall an intesteting, easy class.

yeah he is a nice guy, doesn't care if you come to class, however his lectures are REDUNDANT and his tests are IMPOSSIBLE! I studied 2 weeks in advance for his tests and still got a D in his class, I think most of the students did. when i approached him for extra help or anything to raise my grade,he was no help. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

horrible.. honestly i thought going into this class it was going to be easy from the comments.. his lectures are repetitive, his tests have nothing to do with the text, or the lectures, and he is not helpful at all with his office hours or e-mailing.. do not recommend. one of the worst professors I have EVER taken here

Very enthusiastic, and willing to hear anyone's opinion. A class any rich white kid at Fairfield should take, if for no other reason than it teaches you what is wrong with this country. Take the class - learn something for once.

I took him for 11 and 12. Very nice guy and good teacher. His tests aren't too hard and he covers the material very well in class (but dont miss class b/c ull get lost). He loves economics so it makes the subject bearable. Take him.

A really great guy. He's funny and very excited about economics, tries to teach clearly and will help if you need it. Tests mostly from lectures, text readings are assigned and can be helpful.

Good teacher. Tests are straightword and heavily based on his lectures. HW is really easy & textbook reading is minimal. If you can do simple math, this class is an easy A. For some reason, some students struggle early in this class. But, if you ace the final, you automatically get an A in the class. Can be funny also, sometimes.

Awesome prof. Tests are pretty straightforward, although there is no review for them. Just go to class, no reading really necessary outside of class. Very willing to help and wants everyone to do well.

this guy is awesome. he's really enthusiastic about economics, and explains the material very clearly. i think if you've already taken this class, it might be boring, but he's really good for beginners. he teaches the material well, so you don't have to read the book, unless you want clarification for tests..which aren't bad, but he's a hard grader

MacroEcon. Pay attention and do the work and you will get an A. I did neither but Buss helped me work my way from possibly failing back up to a B. Friendly guy even if he seems timid at first. Take his class, you'll learn and get a grade that reflects it.

I had Dr. Buss back in the 1980s and he was great. I went on to grad school in economics and was well prepared by FU's department.

Exams are hard! Nice guy, animated, LOVES BIRDS. Two tests, problem sets, mini-themes, and a final. Expects students to know more than they actually do in an introductory class.
