I found his lectures and the other class material very confusing. However, he made the tests fairly simple. You will have to work in this class but he's a fair marker and you will earn the grade you deserve.

Dr. Kliffer runs a course that will not benefit his students in the future at all. He is a boring lecturer, a hard marker (despite that he doesn't teach much) and overall just not pleasant to be around. He inappropriately (and seemingly joyfully, I might add) picks on students. He's the embodiment of why seniority should not determine your pay.

This course is much easier if you have already taken LING 1A03. Kliffer posts slides but its important to go to class to fill in some information. He randomly checks daily homework which is annoying but it helps you stay on top of the course. He is pretty clear; he sometimes talks too fast and seems impatient. Overall, a good prof and good class.

Dr. Kliffer is an amazingly helpful prof. I had hardly any linguistics experience, pragmatics isn't easy, yet I still managed to do well. He will really respect you if he sees that you are willing to work hard.
