Dr. Lisa is a really great lecturer. He is incredibly smart and funny at times and he is really good at keeping the class engaged during lecture. His exams and quizzes though are super hard so be sure to really understand the concepts and how to do problems.

Professor Lisa is an incredible smart man, so smart, that I think he often forgets practical capabilities of students at my level (freshman physics major). His lectures are pretty good, and his homework and quizzes are reasonable, but when it comes to midterms and the final I had a lot to complain about; they are unnecessarily difficult/calc heavy.

Comment:
Lisa gave great lectures and is a very intelligent man, but his tests were impossible. Going to lecture is important, but I found that reading the book and doing practice problems helped the most. He is known to use problems from the book on quizzes. He can be a little conceited at times and doesn't care that his tests are extremely difficult.

Super great lecturer, very passionate about what he is teaching and sharing his knowledge. Office hours were also helpful, but his tests and quizes are notoriously difficult with questions you haven't seen before. Good luck if you're in 1251...

Dr. Lisa is probably the best Physics prof. at OSU. This does not mean that he is going to make the class easy. He has a true passion for physics and what he teaches. The main thing is that Physics 1251 is an extremely hard subject and you have to put a lot of time and effort into the course. Just having Prof Lisa doesn't guarantee a good grade!!!

Professor Lisa is a good instructor. However, I think the way he teaches us is wrong somehow. The quizzes and midterms are much harder than those from other professors. My roommate can get an A but I only got a C+. There is no lecture notes posted on Carmen, so you have to attend the lectures. C+ affects the GPA that enter my major.I have to retake

So some people have rated Dr. Lisa as average/bad because the class is hard and you actually have to go to class-It's physics. Expect it to be hard. Dr. Lisa is the BEST professor this school has to offer. He is extremely engaging, brilliant, and funny. He is very approachable and explains things VERY well. If you are taking physics, he is a MUST

Michael is a great professor; however extremely difficult, possibly because it is difficult material in the first place. I recommend taking this professor, lectures are interesting and fun because he has such a passion for physics.

You have to go to lecture to pass this class with Lisa. Its your only source of information of what will be on the test because he deviates from the textbook occasionally. The clicker questions in class and the homework on webassign are good indicators of what tests will be like. Lisa is good at explaining things, not great at writing them down.

Amazing prof, one of the best ive had at OSU. His examples make sense & are so helpful u find urself later referring to your notes because theyre actually of use. If you ask a question in class, no matter how stupid, he'll answer it very well & incorporate it into the lecture, he even follows up w/ u later. Very fair w/ midterms. And hes hilarious.

He's a great lecturer, I currently have him for Physics EM (1251). The tests are pretty hard, but I'm assuming he will curve them somewhat. One complaint is no equation sheets are given for quizzes which is really tough, but they are provided for exams.

Lisa is the best professor that I ever meet in OSU. He's patient with repeating the examples and explaining them clearly when someone doesnt understand. His quizs are fair, not hard and not easy. The second one is a bit challenging coz magnetic field is so tricky. He really helps a lot in lecture. And he's pretty hilarious.

Physics of Sports was a great class. I only took it because I needed a GEC. I didn't like physics in high school, so I hoped it wasn't really physics. But it was, and it wasn't too bad. It was cool to use forces and energy and math to understand sports. The book was cool. The tests and homeworks were pretty hard but he curves a lot at the end.

Lectures were long and boring for what you would think is going to be an interesting course about the physics of sports. Book used for class is one of the worst things ever written. Quizzes and homework problems are very confusing and difficult. This guy is the king of curveballs.

Professor Lisa was one of the best lecturers I've had at OSU. His lectures are extremely helpful and, while he does ask some tricky concept questions on exams, he always makes sure to explain the concept before the test in lecture, SO GO TO CLASS!

Physics of Sports was great with Prof. Lisa. Made his own textbook out of the slides he used in class. Weekly homework was very similar to questions in class. He was very clear about specific principles and concepts he guaranteed to be on quizzes+midterm. Offered a group project instead of taking a final, was very helpful w/ developing the project

Spoke clearly. Really helpful demos. Said funny things. Exam 2 was difficult. I would recommend him to another student! Quiz easiness was hit or miss. TA was really good and cared about students a lot. Lab was pointless. Take Prof. Lisa if possible!!

Professor Lisa is one of the best lecturers I've had in my time at OSU. He is very clear in presenting the material and though his class was difficult, he made it thoroughly enjoyable. His sense of humor during lectures didn't hurt my interest level either.
