Art history majors at SU are some of the dumbest she asks you to take two tests and write a short 5 pg paper yes the tests are going to be difficult. And she puts up all her slides and tells you which images you dont have to worry about. Yes you have to memorize 250 images but usually only by ten different artists, and her lectures are fascinating

Although she seems to know a lot of information, she is a really tough grader. The class is also really boring. Even in a small class, which is supposed to be more interesting, I just could not stay awake. Stay away from the class if possible!

Had 2 classes with her, did well but worked REALLY hard. Helps to be interested in topic. Can be very critical when you have projects. Tests are easiest if you prepare days ahead of time b/c it's difficult to anticipate questions. Vocab sections in exams are sometimes difficult. Try not to get on her bad side or you'll be there for awhile.

Chai is the clear cut example of a prof. who has let tenure get to her head.She is so knowledgeable it puts out of perspective what is and what is not appropriate to put on tests. She does not not seek to inspire her students but rather seems to get off on denouncing them. I thought my passion for this subj. would override rumors. DO NOT TAKE!

Terrible experience. As an art history major, I was very excited for this class. While she does know a lot about the subject, she basically expects you to know everything that she does. That is just impossible considering she's been in the field way longer than any of us. We did group presentations and she publicly ripped everyone to shreds. AVOID.

Wow. Professor Chai is a really sweet woman in person, but her exams are insanely hard to prepare for. There's a lot of reading for the class, and she puts out a lot of info and expects you to know it from front to back. Try to avoid this class if possible.

Is very nice and is understandable. Is well intentioned, but thorws too much information at you. Expects you to remember way too much. Tests are very had and she is not clear about what she is going to put on them. Does not really say what she wants on papers. Class is bearable, but she can droan on, making you fall asleep
