Comment:

Lowy mumbles, so listen very closely. Prepare to do a lot of out of class reading. His lectures are convoluted, but he tries to explain the readings. He is a brilliant man, but lacks the skills to teach in a concise manner with the amount of reading involved in his class. I cannot recommend his class, and should be avoided at all costs.

Beware! This is a very bad Professor! Professir Lowy is extremely confusing, gives horrible lectures and he has a major attitude! He lacks compassion and caring for students, and is intimidating and aloof! Avoid at all costs taking any classes from this arrogant and uncaring Professor!

3 courses with this professor: Civil Litigation, Advanced Civil Litigation, and Family Law. His exams are INCREDIBLY specific/detailed. I remember thinking that I would have been better off reading the CA Civil Code of Procedure than the study guide. Teaching of any formulas or calendering is very confusing because of miscalculations. Study!

He does not use Powerpoints, so be prepared to take good notes. If you do that and read the text, you will be fine. Excellent and dry sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures. Some of the younger people in the class complained about him. Don't think they understood why he can be so tough. Challenging, but I learned a lot as a result.

Feel lucky to be there and display gratitude that he's your teacher and you'll get a higher grade. Academic attitude, he's not there to hold your hand, you're there to worship him. Helps you if he likes you, doesn't help you if he doesn't. Good luck. Beware of the traps and there are traps.

This class was terrible. He makes the class work in groups so that means one person does most of the work. He doesn't get grades back to students in a timely manner so you never really know what grade you're getting. He's a nice enough man, I just don't like his teaching style.

Constitutional Law - extremely hard, only 10 people left out of the class of 40 because of difficulty. A lot of heavy reading of importatant Supreme Court cases of constitutional issues. Be prepared for the Socratic method of teaching. Mr. Lowy is excellent!

He's a very nice guy. His class however, demands alot of reading. The class discussions are fun and the workload is avg. No tests/quizzes, just reading as homework. I'd recommend his class if you want to learn something, not for an easy A.

Mr. Lowy is great and you will learn a lot, but you have to make an effort. Also, hanging out with him during the break in the night class is fun and interesting!
