Comment:

Professor Martinez is very nice and very passionate about all things political science/U.S government related. His lectures however, I feel, do not really correspond to his exams, so you have to read the textbook. I find myself sitting in lecture unable to actual write anything down/take notes because he isn't saying anything that seems testable.

Comment:

There were weekly quizzes on canvas that were pretty easy. Three exams that were pretty easy to get an A on as long as you study the lecture notes and have done the readings. Participation is key for discussion grade but it is not mandatory to attend the lecture. Lectures were pretty interesting and I learned a lot. Have to get mypolisci lab.

Absolutely loved him. The class is no breeze. There's a lot of reading - text + 2-4 scholarly articles per week (and a 15-20 page research paper), but you walk out exceptionally skilled and knowledgable. Even if you're not doing an honors thesis, if you're seriously considering grad school, this class is a must take.

Dr. Martinez is approachable, articulate, and very intelligent. He keeps you on your toes (in a good way). The course is very easy as long as you study and do the work. Dr. Martinez is the best poli sci professor I have had at UF.

Lectures are very dry and difficult to stay awake through in early morning blocks. He's very nice and genuinely interested in his subject, though. Easy enough if you do ALL the readings and study online chapter exams in polisci lab.

I personally reall like Professor Martinez. I have this class as a double block at 830am once a week and another meeting on thursday at 930 and i always wake up for it because i like the class. He is a really nice person and is interested in his subject.

Great, great professor. Very knowledgeable, intelligent, class was easy as long as you did the readings. Very nice guy, gave us all extra credit when the Saints won the Super Bowl. Highly recommend his class.

Now I understand why Poli Sci majors should take Stat! This is course was great if you're a geek (like me) who likes to analyze numbers. If you hated STA, though, you'd probably be better off in another class.

Super easy class, exams were simple and to the point, what he said would be on it was exact. TA sessions are somewhat boring but an easy 40 points, so go to them it counts as much as the second test.

Tests are impossible. Studied for days and still didnt do well. Ended up with a C in the class after doing everything possible to do well. ONLY class ever below a B! Save yourself and don't take it.
