Prof Michael Montano was one of my best professors I had including all professors throughout my studies to completing a masters degree. He taught math the way it should be: emphasizing knowledge of definitions, rules, equations and the use of correct semantics. He raised our class' math level to where we could solve problems that appeared too hard.

Sad to say that this great Math instructor has retired for good this time. He was very helpful going over the homework. His tests really tested your knowledge of the material, which for math, you really need to know. His teaching was clear and easily understood. He really had a desire to help his students. This guy is absolutely hilarious and has a great personality. I had a lot of fun in his class too. But.....did I learn how to do math? Nope. Not that I don't mind funny teachers, they are great. But I like teachers that have a sense of humor while teaching me the material as well. If your not already skilled in math, choose someone else.

You'll LOVE this teacher. You'll LOVE his personality. However, the grade you receive may not be something of your appreciation. He will cover material very vaguely, and will not take the time to help each student. If you love laughing and having fun, or you are already skilled in math, choose this professor. He's a very smart man...no doubt about that. It's just his test are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT (with capital letters!)... and whenever he writes stuff on the board, he'll often times erases it before we're even done.

If you are looking for an amusing, very entertaining professor, THIS IS THE ONE! He keeps the class light-hearted, which is a must in math. HOWEVER, be prepared to fail or get very low grades on the tests. Along with the rest of the class. Don't know why, but this will happen. Doesn't explain fundamentals enough.

I havel earned more in his class than any other math class. He is the best math teacher at RCC if you want to learn something. He is by far the most demanding mat 35 teacher at RCC. just do all your work and show that you are trying and you will pass. you will find that if you do all you work and pay atttention that you will learn something.

He's the best math teacher ever. Yes, everybody is right. He's a difficult teacher. If you do your homework and pay attention to the way he explains problems, you'll be fine in class. He's a sarcastic guy! I want to take him again but he doesn't teach Pre-Cal in Spring. Highly recommended!!!
