Chef Steve was tough, fair, knowledgeable, and incredible. He can be short with those who don't dedicate themselves, work hard, or follow instructions, but if you have the desire and will to learn and improve he will tirelessly work to help you in any way he can.

Comment:

Benns is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He talks down to students and makes them feel useless. When running the restaurant, he get so stressed and creates the worst environment that is not a very positive learning environment. He also is very sarcastic and does this grin when talking down to you. He also needs to stop eating.

I am a past graduate student from 2007 of his, Chef steve and chef hawey were both very stern and hard on the students and at the time I did not understand but now that I have worked in the field for a few years I appreciate there tough love approach. It has gotten me where I am now.

Chef Benns is not very easy. Yes he knows his stuff, but in this environment he would not be someone that I want as my teacher. I believe that he does not like to help but he does love to talk down to everyone!!
