Loos, the class time are tough, but going to class is essential. He is very knowledgable on FTV and is more than willing to help if you stay after class or go to office hours. I recommend going to him for feedback on your video essays before the final submission. He is very engaging and encourages group learning. Go to class + participate A.

I'm a freshman taking an 8AM class with him as my professor, and in spite of being half asleep he always manages to make us smile and engage with what he's saying. Very passionate. Pushes you to do better. He does pop quizzes in his classes, so don't skip! Great taste in films and great person overall. DO TAKE THIS GUY'S CLASS.

The book doesn't define all the terms but read it anyway. His grading criteria isn't always clear and when you go visit him his feedback is ambiguous. Nice enough guy, but frustrating. Pop quizzes never announced ahead of time but attendance isn't mandatory, so show up just in case of a quiz. Also changes quiz times online, so check your email.

Mulcahy is really passionate about what he teaches. Would be a really great philosopher. Just don't ask questions if you expect a clear answer; his answer will leave you more confused than you were before you asked the question.

Mulcahy is a genuinely nice guy. He might not be great at communicating his lectures, but you can definitely tell that he really tries and prepares. He also encourages feedback and is always looking to improve. You're pretty much on your own in any FTV class so get used to it. However, he will definitely support you and try to help if you ask.

Mulcahy should have been a philosopher. Often times, he will ask for clarification and then continue to ask why. Nice guy, really interesting material, make sure you do well on the weekly quizzes, points add up.

ithis class would have been better if the TAs knew how to grade but because of budget cuts we had TA's who had no experience in this subject which is frustrating when you know what your doing. mulcahy is very open to students and always accepts feedback to become a better teacher

A great guy and a respected teacher. His goal is to help his students improve as filmmakers. Our class loves him! Not the best communicator, but he makes a conscious effort to improve on this. Genuine, valuable feedback if you ask for it. He tries to push each student at an individual level. Not perfect, but by far one of my favorite professors!

Professor Mulcahy is very good at teaching classes. He takes care to get feedback several times throughout the semester and he works on the comments he is given and adresses them in class. He is very approachable and enjoys jokes but also effectively runs a class answering questions and explaining concepts as necessary until everyone is up to speed

Sour Sally! This guy not only thinks he knows about real production, he tries to take over everyone's projects. Well, those that are better than the slop he puts out, which is about 80% of each class. He showed us his grad project from Temple, GHAK! Avoid at all costs. And if you do have him, don't let him keep you down. Succeed inspite of him!
