Michael Murphy is one of the few professors I've encountered that genuinely cares about the well being of his students. His class sizes tend to be smaller so you have a more personalized experience. He gives off "dad vibes" with his outdated jokes and caring manners. If you pay a good amount of attention and speak up about confusion you'll do great

I slacked off in this class and regret it because it actually is a good class to take. There's a few tests, class preps, and a final project in the end. Study for the tests and don't slack off and you will do fine in this class. Michael Murphy is a good professor who wouldn't want you to fail.

Great class to take, there's class preps, a few tests, and a final project at the end. Make sure you show up to class, in the end, it will help your grade, Also study for the tests and do the class preps before class. Michael Murphy is a great professor and wants you to pass so I would take this class.

This class is a good class to take, however, it's important to show you care and do all the work. Michael Murphy is a good professor and is willing to help and do what he can for you. Study for the tests, do the work and make sure you actually do the last assignment don't just do it to get it done. Overall good class to take if your serious about

There are professors out there who are more inspiring and enagaing in their work. It's better to take a class with a teacher who actually enjoys what they're doing.

I am not a Journalism major, I am a Creative Writing major. I got partnered up with a Journalism partner and I struggled to write up my article. When I would go for help he made it clear, he was not interested nor wanting to help me. Then called me out in front of the class for not knowing what I was doing. One of the worst teachers ever!

Professor Murphy is unlike anybody Ive ever met before. He encouraged me when I didnt feel like my work was up to par, and was always around when I needed him! Take him. Trust me. I understand the hesitation because I was once in your place, but now that Ive met him, I wish every class I have is with him.

Easy class to get an A, but it is mainly test based. There is a total of 5 tests but no midterm or final. There is an easy teaching/tutoring project at the end of the semester but it is simple and explained well. Lecture can get boring at times but Michael is a great guy and he cares about his students.

Professor Murphy is awesome! He really knows his stuff! He uses his past exams to help review for your exam, which I found really helpful because you knew exactly what you would have to do and how it would look. He puts his notes online so there's not much of a need to take any! Not much homework either!

I had this professor two years ago and it was an okay experience, lots of students in a lecture hall for ENG 102; I just had him this past semester for ENG 485, and granted it is a 400 level course, but I found that he loads the work on. Not only do you attend class the regular three times per week, but you interview, to "partner Up",with a local.

I took Professor Murphy's grammar class three years ago, which I wasn't fond of, but this class was merely a capstone class. For a 400 level, it was really relaxed. A couple of readings throughout semester. Interviews happen, so have those interview outfits. He takes attendance religiously, but doesn't hurt if you skip. Good "real life" experience.

I took "Words in the World," and I found this to be a great class, in lieu of Senior Seminar. You gain a lot of information that you can utilize for the professional world that soon awaits, like resume building, etc. It is essentially a "mini-internship" course! Prof. Murphy is a nice guy and very easy-going.

Lectures are boring, and sometimes confusing. Test problems can be tricky but he always tries to give you the most points that he can. I truly think he wants his students to succeed. He's a really nice guy and there hardly is any homework. If you have to take this class, he's your best bet.

He passes an attendance sheet around. The class is SO easy and shows you old tests and some from last semester. He is an easy grader, gives bonuses and will always try to his best to help. The final is easy, I did the tutoring project. The first test was the most difficult about the reading. Not a lot of hw just reading once then easy class preps.

He's nice and shows you old exams. Not a difficult class if you pay attention. No real homework except class preps through angel which are easy. He looks like the hunter from Fox and the Hound...But don't worry, he's nice!

The material itself is not very exciting. You are quizzed on the readings so have a good general knowledge. He passes around attendance sheet. Although, he is constantly late himself. Just pay attention in class and review slides before exams.

Murphy is one of the BEST professors I've ever had! People complain about the class because the subject itself if boring, but he is a fantastic teacher who is always willing to help you out. He is also an easy grader and goes through practice exams before the actual exam, so you always know what to expect! No surprises. Overall, a great class!

Awesome professor. Dr. Murphy is always willing to help and will go above and beyond to help you. He is my adviser and I've taken two classes with him. He has been superb in every way. He is more than willing to help you with anything--class related or not. I HIGHLY recommend this man.
