Had to take one economics class for my theme. I am posting because his class blew open my perception of economics. Go talk to him and participate, sit close talks very quiet but is aware and wants to be stopped to repeat. Brilliant writer. Anyone calling radical is someone married to the myth of capitalism being a natural and inevitable force.

He is definitely here for funding his research. He's really knowledgeable and when I was in the class was having his 28th book published on the subject of Economics. Sit in the front because he doesn't speak loudly. Take notes. Read book summaries for a clearer understanding. Do the work and your grade will be generous.

He is an older gentleman, sit in the front or you won't hear a thing. Was I confused everyday of class? Yes. Lots of reading which is where discussion comes from. I went to office hours alot, and he liked that. I got an A in this class, simply because I asked for help, I still don't understand econ though. fake it till you make it!

For the good of education please retire. This is one old dude who's more radical than Osama Bin Laden. By the way, be prepared to read 6 books. He does not teach or lecture; he rambles. Be prepared to hear the same thing over and over and awkward discussion. Also be prepared for ambiguous, random grading with no explanation as to grades received.

He does not explain anything!! Tons of reading and writing. If you keep up with everything you can get an A, but be prepared to be confused. Sit in the front because he whispers.

His classes are discussion-based and can be extremely boring. Grading is pretty easy and there is a lot of reading. Participation is worth a huge chuck of your grade so be sure to show up.

Perelman is a great teacher, everyone on here must have not attended class or didn't engage in the discussions. Perelman is one of the wisest professors and it is a blessing to be in his classroom.

This teacher is by far the worst one I have had so far at Chico State. It is supposed to be a GE pathway class, yet he favors the econ majors that take it, and ignores the non-majors. He is very forgetful, I have often tried to make plans with him due to my working during his office hours and he forgets and becomes irritable if you call him out.

Professor Perelman is a so so professor. He is a smart man knowing economics, but it's hard to hear him, he talks softly. Sit up front. This class is a discussion one, and you all talk about the books u read. Q and A session. You have to come up with questions and evaluation papers b4 class, they are huge chunk of ur grade. He looks like the old man in Home Alone.

My god... horrid. This class had a really interesting topic, but the teacher made it awful. He is so hard to hear, if someone coughs you missed everything he had said. He is really bad at splitting up reading assignments, he often assigned 100+ pages of reading in two nights. Awful teacher, I recommend finding another class of interest.

Make sure to sit in the front of the classroom because you can't hear him. But if you sit in the front he will constantly call on you to talk. If you've never taken an econ class before do not take this class because you will have no idea what your doing. All together it was a horrible class and he is a horrible teacher!

He sucks, worse teacher I've ever encountered. I would not recommend him to anyone. This guy needs to retire. Good uck when a classmate zips their backpack, you'll not be able to hear him. He talks so softly & the fact that he's also monotone. Oh god, I can't describe how terrible he is. He wouldn't be able to explain a problem his save dear life.

Been teaching since the 70s and tells you "wow things sure are different since i was teaching in the 70s." Duh. Things have changed but doesnt seem like he has altered his teaching style. Doesnt take attendance so even if you show up when 3/4 class doesnt- doesnt know. Im an A student and he is very hard to learn from.

Ok, here is the rundown...Perelman is not the best lecturer. However, By the end of the semester he really started to grow on me. If you go to his office hours, and ask for help, he is 200x more helpful outside of class. He has good motives, and if you adjust to his teaching style you will be a success in his class.

I had his class at 8am twice a week. I'd go right back to sleep in his class. 73 years old so he talks really quiet and mumbles. He asks the students if they have any questions on anything and if you don't he assumes you can teach the material. Never takes roll but always threatens to. If you want a good grade, AVOID HIM

He is very good at making sure you understand the content and is some what good at explaining, but nothing he says is on the test, the only things graded so far is the midterm and nothing he talks about is on the test. Dont bother with reading evaluations, but be sure to study the book, because thats what all the tests are on. Prepare to sleep.

His section of Econ102 was twisted, garbled and confused in every way. Looks and sounds like someone lost in the 1970s. Impossible to talk to and unbearable to listen to. Complete waste of time and effort. Run from this guy!

the worst teacher ever. he gave us the answers to the first test, was angry when everyone did well and decided not yo count it. we have a 3rd midterm tomorrow (same day as the final). he does NOT read your reading evaluations, don't even worry about content. he threatens to take attendance, but only has twice this semester. its time to retire.
