I loved professor Putnam as a person. He will do his best to help you but is an extremely tough grader. Oh and you need a 65 for a D in this class, a 64.9 is failing to him.

Awesome class! Don't be scared of this guy; he's the best and he will help you. We formed a great relationship over the course of a single semester. He has high but reasonable expectations. He isn't exactly tough; it's just the nature of the course. He's the best person for the job.

I've taken MANY college classes & this was the most difficult experience ever. There is A LOT of writing, reading, testing and you must be flawless or there will be a major loss of points. The tests are often not accurate & difficult to finish in the time allotted. He feels it is necessary to be tough on students because that will make them better.

Of the 160 credits I have taken, Professor Putnam has been among the laziest professors I've had. No lectures are made, everything is from the textbook. All the info that is given has the the textbook's publishing company on it. Quizzes and Tests are from test banks provided by textbook company. Not a hard class though if you're motivated.

I can honestly say that this is by far the most difficult class I have ever taken. Exams are timed have your notes in order, the study guide is very helpful many exam questions are from there. Case studies make sure you check your grammar like 1000 times over. The prof isnt hard its just the material thats hard. Be careful dont slack off with this

Horrible professor. Obtuse and incorrect test questions. Marks off on papers for the most inconsequential mistakes, but gives tests littered with incoherent and mistaken questions. I am a great student and did well despite his shortcomings, but it was a frustrating and tedious semester. Find someone that can inspire and help you - NOT THIS MAN.

I was not happy with Professor Putnam, though apparently he was going through a rough personal time (which he never brought into the classroom, to his credit). His quizzes & tests were very difficult, & his grading often felt like he was nitpicking. It was very stressful. He sometimes had mood swings, & he didn't always seem very willing to help.

This is the hardest class at Alfred. Sometimes test question answers can not be found in the book. Very hard grader. Takes off for the smallest details and yet his own comments often have mistakes. This class in going to ruin my cum.

This class is very hard but Mr. Putnam gives you every opportunity to pass. If you pay attention in lectures and read your book you should do fine. Don't let other people scare you it's possible to do well in this class if you try.

Tests consist of fill in the blank, T/F, essay questions, & multiple choice questions that really pick your brain. Weekly lab & lecture quizzes that require a lot of studying. Attendance mandatory. Professor is very willing to work with students 101 outside of class. Also hold?s a optional review session once a week. Hardest course I?ve taken!!

Worst teacher ever. Admits to using national question banks for his test questions. Most answers on tests cannot be found in book/notes. All A's in every class except his, passed with C. Very picky, I understand paying attention to detail but this guy is ridiculous. Downtalks students and treats them badly, bestows his misery upon students.

i used to like microbiology until i had to take this class with him, hated his teaching style, studying notes and book doesnt really do much. he's picky about answers to questions and essays and takes partial or full credit off for the smallest things. i hope i pass so i never have to put up with him again. horrible teacher!!!

you will need a tutor in this class. its rediculously hard. i had a 3.9 gpa before this class...i have a D in this damn class.
