He really knows his stuff, which is cool, but when it comes times to talk about the facsimilies in abraham he knows way too much. other than those few days of random egyption knowledge, he's a great teacher. the class is based on reading, attendance, and there are only two exams. a midterm and final. not the easiest religion class, but really good.

One of the best religion teachers that I have had at BYU. I liked that he wasn't trying to impress anyone in the class by his knowledge of the gospel or his stand-up comedy. I like that he went virtually verse by verse through the NT. I was impressed that he spent the first class by teaching the importance of the spirit in teaching the gospel.

Nice guy, but his Pgp class was more about Egyptian history than the scriptures. The lectures are dry, I fell asleep everyday in class. Also, He said that he would curve the grades about 10% before sending them in, but then didn't. If you want to learn the scriptures, take this class from someone else.

I personally did not Bro. Rhodes, nice guy, but it was one of the most boring classes i ever took at BYU. Don't take it from him. all his lectures our done on powerpoint. it is easy but if you want to learn a lot and have great discussions don't take it from him.

Definitely get a different professor for New Testament. Prof. Rhodes is a good humble man, but his teaching is bland. His exams are indeed tricky and there isn't much you can do to prepare for them. This class was disappointing for being at BYU.

He was a pretty smart professor and read from his Greek NT. He explained the context of the Pauline missions well. His lectures were very dry and directly from the powerpoints: almost half the class was a sleep during any given moment. His tests are a bit tricky; you have to do the reading. Overall, not bad, but you may find better at BYU.

Take REL-A 327 from him if you're looking for an easy A without having to think. Don't take it if you actually want to learn.

Wow, what an easy class. All you have to do is go, read, and mark things on blackboard. The midterm was super easy as long as you put in the time to reread the class notes a few times. Rhodes is a great teacher and I definitely trusted his knowledge in the gospel. Great teacher!

Great professor. The class is basically reading assignments, open book quizzes, tests and a second reading where you're to read the New Testament in a version other than the KJV. Pretty easy if you ask me. No papers to write. He shares some cool spiritual experiences in lecture. Great class if you're looking for a more relaxed REL class.

He's very smart, but did not really give the students much to go off of for the tests. Broad range of topics, super vague study guides...

Brother Rhodes is funny and genuine. He is a really nice guy and REALLY knows about and loves Egyptian/papryi information. Tests were focused more on side information than the actual Pearl of Great Price, which makes going to class mandatory.

Professor Rhodes seemed like a weird little man at first, but he knows his stuff. It's a pretty easy class, most of it is online on blackboard. It will be hard if you don't know anything about the Old Testament. If you've read Jesus The Christ this will all just be a review.

Dr. Rhodes is an amazing teacher. He is very smart. He knows greek and so he gives backgrounds of words. He is very helpful. His tests were pretty fun to take they are easy if you just study not that hard. He has a dry sense of humor. He teaches strictly from the scriptures and The Prophets.

Anyone who hates on Brother Rhodes is dumb. I like him. He's a fountain of knowledge. He knows all the ancient languages. His tests are easy if you study the slides from lectures. The quizzes are easy cause they're open notes.

Lectures were dry and early in the morning. The class was ok and is graded on an ok curve. Tests can be a little nit picky, and based on the in class lectures. If you go to lectures and cont fall asleep you'll do ok.
