His teaching methods will make you a better student and actually knowledgeable on the subject matter, so long as put forth the effort. Beyond hilarious, Dr.Ryan is a genious and actully a compassionate instructor. I thank him still to this day. I owe my succes to him---Dawud W. Amin

Being rude, disrespectful, making fun of students, and being down right hostile is not funny. Granted most Southern students still have the high school mentality where those types of actions would be per perceived as such so maybe that's your thing. He's an insult to his profession and a disgrace to the school.

100 was great with him, hard tests but studying helped, 200 was incredibley challenging, with no background in statistics or research methods you will struggle immensely. Can be extremely sarcastic, tests are very hard and you better not miss any classes.

OMG. Horrible. He is so mean and disrespectful to his students. I can take a joke, but not his. His tests are hard, everything in that class is hard. And him making fun of people throughout the class doesn't help. I had to withdrawal before he made me cry again!

This man cares so deeply for his students... he will be your biggest advocate and mentor if you let him. Yes, he can be intimidating and come off a little rude at times, but he's not there to hold your hand and coddle you. If you respect him and his class, he'll respect you. Once you realize that, you can have a great time with his class.

Dr. Ryan is a great teacher but there's no question he's tough. He has a good sense of humor and if you understand it, his class is a lot of fun. All you have to do is pay attention in class (he checks a lot), read what he assigns and do the vocab and you're set, he literally gives you the stuff that's going to be on the test. Always ask for help.

Everyone says they dread Dr. Ryan, it is just because they misunderstand him. He come across as being mean, but really he is trying to be funny because the material is really hard. Work hard, and visit him during office hours, and you will be fair. If you show you care and are trying he will be sure to help you. Big PowerPoint presentation though!!

Prof. Ryan is a hard teacher if you do not want to put the time in. Go to his office hours and study and you will do fine. If you do not want to put the time in you will fail. Tough class. Ryan made it managable seeing that it was 3x a week. Hes pretty funny. He will pick on you but dont get offended or you wont make it through the class. He is VERY helpful if you go to his office. I would take him again. Just stay on top of things and youll be fine.
