I loved this class! Every single person in our class improved a LOT by the end. Mike is quite possibly the most inspiring teacher ever, especially for such a difficult subject. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Mike says his mom reads this website so "Hi to Mike's mom!" :)

I loved this class, and I hate public speaking! I thought that comm 122 during intercession would be hell, but I actually enjoyed coming to class every day. Mike is funny, helpful, nice, and a great teacher. Take his class if you get the chance! Yes the class was easy, but I definitely learned a lot.

I haven't recieved my grade for this class yet & I actually never use this website ( but we discussed it in class so I figured I would just this once ). This class was really fun, I enjoyed hearing everyone speak & Mike was really nice & laid back. As long as you attend class & try you will have no problem. Go Patriots!!!

Super nice guy. Easy to talk to. Always willing answer any questions in class or by e-mail. A fun class to attend to. No home work beside working on your speech, of course. You dont need to follow the book if you pay attention in his class. Focus on his students indvidualy not comparing each on to the class. Loved having him as my comm 122 intructo

As said before...sooo funny! He loves to talk and will tell you about all the crazy jobs he's had. Also very helpful and understands most people are scared of public speaking. NEVER uses the book but the tests and speeches are EASY if you pay attention! Just don't miss class because he hates that and will fail you. Highly recommended!

I agree with the last comment. I like Sheri as well, but she is not Mike. He was one of those special teachers and I was learning so much from him and then he left and my interest in the class really went down. It went form the most exciting class I had to just an average class. Get Mike back! Make him Full time and pay him whatever he wants!

Best Professor Grossmont had period! He had to leave during the semester and I wonder how much more I would have learned had he stayed. Shery is ok, but Mike was one of a kind! I hope you are well and the class truly misses you! Thanks for everything you taught me!

Michael is one of those teachers that you walk away from thinking. "Wow - this is a guy who loves what he does!" His passion for teaching comes through loud and clear. His critiques are constructive, not destructive, and he has an incredible way of making all of his students feel confident about their abilities in public speaking. Great Class!!

I hated every minute of the class. He said that there was a reason why he assigned us to our groups. I couldn't tell what it was except that maybe he was trying to punish me. It was an extremely easy class and I got an A but I learned absolutely nothing.

I took Mike for group and loved every minute of his class and then took him for speech and he was like a completely different instructor! I couldn't believe how much his style changes from class to class and it gave me a new found respect for his talent with teaching the group class.If you are afraid of public speaking, this is the guy to take!

Great Guy, Great Class, you'll learn a lot without having to do much homework, because he covers the entire book in class! I liked it from day one, because it was different. Some didn't, but now I don't know of anyone not liking the class.I would say he's hot, but I am a homophobe:)

First I took his public speaking class, which was awesome and then I took his group class and wondered if this was the same guy? I was so confused at first and wanted to say "where did Mike go?" then about week 4 I couldn't get the class out of my head and it turns out these were the best two classes I ever took in four years of college! Great Guy

I have been waiting for someone to write something, before I jumped out here and noticed the comment today and totally agree. Although I feel I was "on board" earlier I have used this class at my job almost everyday and sometimes don't realize it till after. Besides being "Hot":)Mr. Smith is a genius. I am in his Monday night and love it!
