DON'T BUY THE BOOK! You don't need it. Just make sure you go to class every day and take great notes and ace his pop quizzes and you'll do fine. He gives a great curve, hard not to get a B at least.

This class was not easy. The curve helped but not enough. I thought I did well after every test, but got a C in every one (without curve). (reading the book did not help me)I was taking the hardest class in my major while taking this class, but my 3 friends in the class also finished with a B. I do not recommend him.

Very tough class to stay awake through. He is a cool guy but the lectures just drag on and on. I thought the content would be very interesting but I didn't retain any of it because of how dull it was.

Come to class for pop quizzes and especially for random in-class responses (20 pts each). Start your article summary early and go in for help if needed. Extra credit is offered. Each exam is graded on a curve as well as final grade. An A is definitely possible you just have to actually work for it.

Attended class is a must even though his lectures are boring. Pop-quizzes and In class discussion papers are randomly given. This class is outdated and should be the History of Personality as the material in my opinion is not up to par with current research and methods.

He is incredibly dry. The content is not difficult but you have to keep up with studying. Don't need to buy textbook. He curves the tests. Nobody would come to this class, except he does pop quizzes and in class reactions. If you put in some effort, you should be able to get a B, if not an A. Most boring professor I've had.

This class did have very boring lectures and it was difficult to get myself to go to. All the slides are online and its DIRECTLY from the book so you don't need to get that unless you want clarification. Each test is curved and then the class as a whole at the end is curved so really easy to end up with a good grade but you need to study a little

I enjoyed Psychology before this class, now it's the one class I can't stand going to. Quite unfortunate. It's very dry and nothing exciting.

Stevens is a pretty good teacher. His lectures drag a little but he is obviously very knowledgeable about the subject and clarifies things well. The powerpoints are straight from the book so reading the book isn't necessary. Overall, a good class and teacher.

Class consists of 4 tests, 2 short out of class papers, 5 paragraph long in-class reactions, 10 one-point pop quizzes. Lectures are boring but go to class to get the in-class points. It will really boost your grade. Tests are difficult but curves are helpful.

I literally slept through almost every lecture and was able to pull a B. Read all the slides and remember them. Tests are hard, but curves are extremely helpful. Drags on and on during lectures and rereads slides. Has pop quizzes and reaction papers otherwise no one would ever go to class.

Don't buy the book, his lectures are straight out of the book. I liked the lectures because I like the subject, but he is a pretty dry teacher. He does curve the test, but doesn't give you a running curve, so at the end you have no idea how you are doing until you get your last grade.

My biggest problem is that he reads straight off the powerpoint, and he speaks as if he is giving a thesis. There are things that could be explained in a much simpler matter without me having to open up the dictionary every few words. He does curve the exams and give a lot of in class assignments. This helps to even out the class.

Dr. Stevens was a good teacher for Psychology of Personality. Be aware that he has very difficult tests but he curves them based on class averages. He puts lecture notes online which are extremely useful and answers questions.

Lecture was very dull. If I actually went to lecture, it was useless because he read the powerpoint verbatum. The study sessions that his graduate assistant gave were pointless!! I wouldn't have even taken this class if it wasn't required! I recommend not taking him as a professor!

He's fine. Just go to class for the easy little credits. He gives you all the information that you need in easy power point slides and gives you a study guide online. Class should be easy for you.

Comment:

Go to class and get the easy extra credit pop quiz points. Be there to do the in class summaries. Do your out of class summaries early in order to redo them. Make sure to attend review sessions..those are the most helpful things. Skim the chapters before the tests. Everything is graded on a curve...even the final grade....the professor is nice.
