Comment:
Michael is absolutely brilliant. This was my first year, and we already talk like we're old mates, and it's great. His work is difficult, but if you pay attention, ask questions, and include yourself, he will do everything to get your grade up. He's very funny and very talented, but don't get on his bad side.

Michael is awesome. He never sticks to the syllabus though and sometimes it is hard to keep up with his plans because they always change. An incredible actor and a great person.

Really knows his stuff, really funny and engaging prof. And he's not close-minded when it comes to what a play means etc. He quizzed us on all the plays we read. We were assigned a handful of papers, some of which were a bit vague on formatting. He's very available to help/talk, and he'll let you rewrite a paper if you botch it. No exams.

Comment:
Tolaydo's classes were only difficult because his instructions were nearly incomprehensible. Three sets of instructions for the same project, all of which said different things. Almost half of my directing class didn't pass, and all his classes are like this. He's a good person, but could use some basic organization skills.

Tolaydo and I got along extremely well. He makes a big deal about going to class but he always kept it entertaining. By the end of the semester, I knew almost all of the people in my class really well because he puts a lot of emphasis on creating an unified class that isn't scared to tell each other their honest opinion. I highly recommend him!!

Michal is brilliant, and his last name is Ellis-Tolaydo. HOWEVER... he told me I didn't rehearse my lines for Acting class for the final. I did, but I also had horrible stage fright and he never once said anything about an invited audience, nor did he co

I took Acting, Thea. History, Auditions, Voicework, and was in two plays he directed. He is really the bright spot in the Theater department. Knows the real world of acting and prepares you for it. Scatterbrained at times, but makes up for it by creativity, entertainment, and quality of education

MET is another of SMCM's gifted teachers -- you learn AND you enjoy doing it. One warning -- his 2-part history seminar for majors is very demanding, but worth it. You must do the work, or else you should wait until you're ready to make that commitment.
