Lots of note taking. I was not sure how i would like the subject but as long as you show up and dont use your cell phone he will get along with you. He only gives out 3 test and gives no homework. He will throw out lowest test grade (includes final) and average out highest two test grades. Offers bonus too. Pretty interesting class, recomended!

I put off taking this class because I'd heard some pretty poor ratings of this professor. Surprise!! He was great. I understand how his teaching style doesn't meet everyones learning style and how is personality might rub some the wrong way. But, I found the subject interesting, Dr. Wheeler informative and really funny! One likes him or they don't.

Crazy! He is a lot of fun to me. Can be sarcastic, and have a dry sense of humor, but he keeps you on your toes. Wants a lot of participation. Tough on discipline, but if you pay attention and participate, you should be good to go. Material can be hard to understand, but I am loving this class and didn't expect to.

I really dreaded this class but find I am really enjoying it. I have learned a lot and it is put in a fun way. His tests are not the easiest, but they are not the hardest either. Come to class, take lots of notes, and be prepared to have to use your brain.

He asks broad questions and expects specific answers...but not any specific answer even if right, but rather the specific answer he has in his head. This goes for both in class and on tests. If you study, you will do ok. but not a promised A as some have said.

I thought this was a pretty easy class. I actually learned some stuff, and if you just go to class often and take notes, you'll do well on his tests. He is a huge Duke fan, so if you wear a duke shirt or something you're almost guaranteed an A. He'll work with you to make up tests. Nice guy

Wheeler's interesting in class and covers the subject well. His tests are not the easiest, but they are fine. You just need to realize these are application questions that require you to think, not necessarily just spit out anwers verbatim.

This was a VERY difficult class! Really, all this for a GE? I went to class every day, took notes, and studied for hours before the tests, and still couldn't do any better than a low B. I ended up with an A, but I don't know how. He was also very critical and wouldn't answer questions. Too bad he's usually the only professor who teaches that class!

Guy was a nightmare. If you are okay with getting a B or a C, he is no problem, but if you care about your GPA, he will ruin it. Do what I did - drop his class and take the online Human Geog course through OKC Com. College. Less cost, less stress, and you won't waste 300+ dollars like I did. Horrible teacher - should be fired.

HORRIBLE. I knew that this class wouldn't be as easy as high school geography, but this was ridiculous. Rather than making my first C, I dropped the class. Dr. Wheeler was rude, and who really cares how many times you speak up in class? Some people are uncomfortable with that and don't learn that way.

I have take 40+ classes and this is THE HARDEST class I have EVER seen. He is a horrible 'people person'. His tests are Masters degree level. He is not honest with himself or students. He makes regular errors on tests and will not admit it. Basically, if you don't care about your GPA, you won't have any problems. Getting an A is near impossible.
