I had Prof. Yetman in class back in the early 2000's. I was at Purdue today and reminded of him. He was extremely hard, but if you got to know him was a very fascinating person. Some of the words he said to me outside of class have stuck with me all of my life.

This was a very hard class. Mr. Yetman is one of those guys that believes only 2 or 3 people do A work. Also, I felt I didn't receive much information about Brit. Lit, and he only taught poetry and essays.

Very tough professor. Expected a lot out of his students, and I agree with others here have said: he is pretty intimidating. But I got a lot out of his class. I still read the poetry I was introduced to in his class. He's a true elitist in the best sense of the word.

He was really scary at first. But you get used to him after a while...a long while. Intimidating, but all he asks is that you do the assignments and know what you're talking about. He wants you to question yourself and others. He'll shoot you down if he thinks your wrong, but can be fun.

Takes a semester to get used to, but very knowledgeable. CAN be fun, just have to be brave - he's very intimidating. Lots hate him but he is fair. Scary attendance policy. A challenging professor, but you learn.

Grouchy and generally not helpful. You can never tell if he's being serious and wants an answer of if he's trying to joke around. His handwritten syllabus was the worst mess I have ever seen in my life. Not up front about what he expects on assignments.

Professor Yetman will allow a class to sit in silence until someone answers a question. He asks questions in such a way that his students don't know if he genuinely wants an answer or is posing a rhetorical question. The class was slow and boring.
