This was the best online class I've ever taken. He was a great professor who really seemed to care about his students even though we never met on-campus. His feedback was always very prompt and helpful as well. We basically had weekly discussion board posts related to readings from the text book, and there was a final paper at the end of the course

I took Dr. Kearns' class online and my only regret as that I didn't have him in class. Very interesting professor, gives prompt and thoughtful feedback and seems very invested in his students and his classes. He is very knowledgeable in his subject and is extremely easy to reach out to. I would take another class with him in a heartbeat!

Loved this professor. Interesting discussions and you will enjoy and get more out of this class if you participate. Daily readings and about 5 papers all semester. Pretty easy. Most papers were 2-4 pages except the final. Kearns is a fun dedicated teacher who genuinely cares about his students.

Wonderful class! It is actually one of the best I've taken at USI and I have taken some good ones! It's not an easy class per say, but the assignments are spread out nicely and he is very open to new opinions and very good about giving feedback. I highly recommend any class of Dr Kearns!

I took this class on-line. There are a lot of assignments. On average 2-3 per week which is more than most on-line classes. He does respond quickly and give good feedback. Good instructor but if you don't want a ton of work, don't take this class.

Dr. Kearns is an amazing teacher! He'll help you with most questions if needed. The only thing that may be slightly difficult in his ENG 100 class is his "Work Project 3"(which is the last project). He get's to know his students and is highly thoughtful. He is teaching the correct major and is the best professor for it. He want's you to explore!

He is an awesome teacher and so intelligent! He is willing to help with whatever problems you have. His class is very laid back. Not a lot of homework either, just a few papers and few sentence exercises where you have to rewrite the sentence. Easy class and great professor!

Dr. Kearns was amazing in my opinion. The rest of my class had mixed opinions, but I always attended class and tried my hardest. I wrote all three papers and took his advice. In the end, I got an A. I'd take another class with Dr. Kearns if I got the chance. And follow Kearns's rule!

I took this class online. It was a breeze, but I still learned a lot. Assignments are pretty easy and there was no final, but a final paper. Kearns is a good guy. He seems pretty laid back and willing to work with his students. Make sure you pretend to like Emily ****inson though; that can make or break you.

At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about this class...it's definitely not a breeze. After a couple of weeks and after I became more famliar with Kearns's teaching style, however, I loved it. You'll definitely learned a lot. Make sure to speak up in class. He likes participation.
