She is a great professor! I definitely recommend taking her, this class is interesting and she makes it alot of fun. You get to watch movies, and read interesting texts. There's a commentary every week, a midterm and 2 papers. It's not hard at all, and this class was a breeze for me. She is really funny too! Take her!

TAKE HER! not at all an eng major and i love going to her class. It is very interesting and you get to watch a lot of movies. YOu have to write a couple short papers and do commentaries every week. Really nice lady! She will help you and is REALLY funny!

I'm really surprised how mean some people are who have posted on here. She is a really great teacher who does talk a lot about opression and injustice, but the only way people will ever learn about that is through world lit. The books and movies are interesting and she is always more than willing to help. Great class, I highly recommend it.

Dr. Brown is pretty cool, very helpful in class and out you can tell she loves what she's doing. Has this amazing offbeat sense of humour that makes the class hilarious at points!very open to stuff (watching youtube videoes ect)is a stickler with grammar, and watch out if your paper is not what shes looking for...or goes against a certian theme.

Professor Brown is amazing. Not only is she hilarious, she really cares about how you do in her class. She loves teaching and it shows in her lectures. She is a hard grader on papers but you are allowed to re-write 3 out of 4 of them. There are a lot of books to read but the in class discussions are really helpful. TAKE THIS CLASS!!

She is an amazing professor. She's enthusiastic about what she teaches and makes you want to pay attention to what you're reading. The only thing I don't like is how the only grades you have are four essays and an exam. However, she does allow rewrites on the first three essays. So no matter how much you might like the class, you could fail.

I did not like this class at all. She is nice enough as a person, but I did not agree with her assignments. 3 papers written on one word each. Also a final project that doesn't really make sense. Very hard to understand. A lot of reading, and pop quizzes.

It's not that this professor is boring, because she's not. I simply think that I grew tired of listening to her because she values her own opinion so much. She might be funny if she didn't laugh at her jokes more than anyone else...She takes forever to give back papers, and her expectations are unclear. Ive had many Eng profs and she's the worst

Worst...professor....ever. I took her "World Literature" class which was, in reality, a "Why Africa is messed up: White Men are the Devil". She uses disproven communist (and no, I'm not joking, one of the books is written by a Marxist and you can tell) theories and is all about the culture of victimhood. Save yourself this mental abortion.

her motto is 'take risks' and she means it. she loves talking to you outside of class. shes VERY helpful. easy grader on the project; 3 papers- if u catch her attention by Taking a Risk when writing ur paper u get an A, if not a C. 2 tests= easy. good class. she knows a Lot about african lit. eh...i got an A- and didn't read one of the books. i wasn't a fan of the book/video choices, only a couple actually held my attention. she's funny to be in class with but if you don't have anything to say in the discussions it can get boring. no tests, only one quiz (she gave the answers), and the final was easy. 3 papers - kinda rough grader.

If you don't like her, it's most likely because you're not willing to actually do work. (my question: why are you then attending a university?) She's a tough grader, but she'll work with you individually on your papers if you go to her office hours. Great sense of humor, and you can tell that she really knows what she's talking about. My God. There are no words for how horrible this woman is. Without doubt the worst instruction I have ever had. Her idea of "world lit" is Afican "stories" that tell of oppression. She pushes communism like no other and should be placed in a cage somewhere to prevent other students from the pain that is her class.
