nice man who is seemingly very knowledgeable about the subject he is teaching the class is interesting enough but the syllabus is poorly designed and the guidelines for the final project are almost none existent. hes worth taking if your incredibly interested in the subject area he is teaching but otherwise avoid this class at all cost

He apparently has a 'six degrees of Kevin Bacon' methodology. Don't expect to ever get a grade back on a project/text that actually counts. He will only ask you a question if he knows you will be wrong. He loves embarrassing people in front of everyone. He was useless and his class was awful. I got a B.

overall, i liked Heed. the material we learned about was fun, though the way he'd go into analyzing it was annoying. he would often ask questions that it was impossible to know the answer to, one time he called on me saying 'what is the question?' at the beginning of class. research project is lengthy, but i enjoyed it and i he graded it generously

i thought i did well in this class, i got b's and c's - not d's or f's, but then my final grade was a D! i emailed and emailed him just wanting an explantion and he NEVER got back to me! so frustrating - i went to every class and always did my work - was indeed one of the most BORING lecture classes ever ... avoid.

Scary at first. At the end of the day, he's a nice guy. Attend class or you'll be lost. No textbook. Multimedia project for the class is fun if you pick a topic you like. DON'T wait until the last minute. Q&A time in class can be rough at times. Overall, I would consider taking him again.

Decade of 1950s- I despise this man. Completely unorganized, loses things all the time. Attacks you when he questions and is obsessed with media and his silly website. I got an A-, and I still can't stand him. Asks questions that can have 20 possible answers but gets mad if you don't pick the one he is thinking of. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Nice guy, interesting class. As long as you pay attention and understand the point he's trying to convey, you'll do well on the tests (but take notes). Cares about your opinion, likes meeting with you if you have a problem. Would definitely take him again.

I really loved Heed's class. its all discusion, very little lecture. Hes nice and understanding. Tends to put people on the spot, but its all in good humor. Very nice, very interesting. His major project is difficult, but you can choose any topic you want so its not miserable. You watch movies and listen to music. Take this course.

please note that the same person below who claims they were unfairly graded in heed's class also misspelled "sense" and "nastiness." heed's a good guy. the project is tedious, but it's easy, and the class is nothing but videos and songs. if you, like, don't like to watch videos in class, then i guess don't take him. but, you know. why wouldn't you?

The class itself was ok. It was a lot of discussion and media, which was better than straight lecture. He gives 2 tests, and a major project. The tests are strictly essay. The project was the stupidest thing I have ever taken the time to do. It's a 12-16 page multimedia paper. I would suggest not taking this class if you don't have to.

Very off-the wall teacher. Assigns a 12-16 page multi-media multi disciplinary paper that is supposed to take you all semester to do. Honestly? I pulled an all nighter and got an A-, so i doubt the whole semester thing is worth it. 2 tests and the project, asks questions that make no sense, but the class was interesting

Heed is a nice guy and friendly once you get to know him. However, his teaching style is a bit different and it includes him calling on you and asking questions that don't always relate to the material. So if yoy don't like being put on the spot you might want to avoid him. The course had alot of material and you def needed to work in it.
