She's enthusiastic about Syntax and is always happy to help you figure out a difficult concept. Watch for mistakes on the board, as they can be common, though -- catching them is a useful way to figure out if you've understood what's been said up until then!

very nice lady when approached outside class. excessive use of powerpoint slides. not useful for syntax when you need to visually see the trees drawn. slides are somewhat useful but very repetitive. midterm or final reviews dont help much.

Avoid at all costs! Foley's lectured are garbled and disorganized, and she seemingly has NO knowledge of linguistics. She steals her slides from other universities' websites and then reads them word for word in class; she also gets angry when posed a question. You will learn nothing from this crazy, ****en woman or her crazy, gothic TA.

Prof. Foley was a great Syntax teacher. She completely altered her own schedule to accommodate those of us who had completely missed the boat with Olga in LIN 2110. I found her well prepared and fair.
