Comment:
I had Jones-Wilson for organic chem lab. She did seem to race through the review at the beginning rather quickly, and just send us on our way for the lab. At times I felt she didn't care, but she still walked around to check on us. She is tough on you, but wants to prepare you to be a good chemist. She can also be a tough grader so put the work in.

Dr. Jones-Wilson is a great lecturer. The class is difficult, but it is very possible to do well if you put the time in to study and attend every lecture!

I had an extremely difficult time understanding her. She is all over the place with her notes which drives my ocd bonkers. Expect a clicker quiz for every class, this actually benefits you in the long run so come to every class. If you're having trouble following along, go to her office hours and ask for her help--she's very good for this.

I wouldn't take her. She is not clear, she races through the notes, she makes mistakes while lecturing all the time that she wouldn't notice unless her students point it out. She does help if you go to her personally. She'll put things on the exam that she didn't even teach in lecture so if you do take her be prepared to do a lot of self teaching.

The most difficult teacher I have ever had at ESU. Only helps you if you go to her and her lectures are ridiculous. She shouldn't teach lower level classes, too smart for it.

I took orgo 1 and 2 with her and she knows her sh!#. like good. however she expects you to know it as well. I have to give her credit though Orgo is never an easy class to teach but if you want to actually learn it, and not just breeze through then take her. You will know ORGO ICE COLD!!!!

Very difficult. She is a very smart woman, but she is very hard. She posts a lot of online homework and quizzes (which can REALLY boost your grade!!), but her tests seem impossible. Get a tutor. You will have to do a lot of on-your-own stuff to understand well, but in the end, you will know a LOT.

I must say she has a good personality, but as far as lecture is concerned she looses me every class, she talks too fast and doesn't explain the material well. I had to withdraw from the course because the assignments were pretty difficult. Although she tries to give extra points, the exams are impossible as well.

I've had her for gen chem 2 lab, biochem 1 and physical biochem (lecture+lab) the material is decently hard but she gives plenty of opportunities to earn extra points. she drops your lowest exam and quiz and replaces it with your highest. shes very helpful in lab. much easier to understand then my pchem teacher. she has an awesome personality.

The course material was difficult for me since science is not my strong point. However, I passed the course! As a professor, she is good. If only the course wasn't in a class of over 100 students. This makes the professor less personable, but that's the result of the huge class size.

Good prof. Talks fast sometimes. Biochem has tons of material that has to be covered, that's what makes it hard. I got a B without much studying.

Does not teach. The problems and work done in class are very simple and basic.. then you take the exam or quiz all the problems are ten times harder.. she expects a lot, which in college is expected.. but profs SHOULD teach a lot before they can expect a lot back from their students.

She'll give you work that will make you sleep deprived and run your immune system into the ground. However, if you survive, the information you take away is invaluable. She holds ESU students to a high standard. Why shouldn't she? She is by far one of the best professors at ESU.

Jones-Wilson is a professor, not a baby sitter. She knows her stuff and will not hesitate to help anyone. Biochem is the hardest class she teaches, but she does it that way on purpose. Why should she waste her time teaching upper level material to people who don't want to work for their education? If you don't want to try become a fast food worker.

Honestly, this class was brutal. The combination of the lecture and lab will consume your life--she's told her students this upfront. Great Prof--just don't plan on having any other hard classes or a life and you'll do better than I did
