Not saying this class was an essay or all the things needed to do was a cakewalk, but he really does makes his student work for the A. He spend his own time review your essay too. Funny guy, I ended cracking up in his class a lot. He cares about your grade when you cares.

Comment:

Mike is one of the best instructors I've had at VC. He makes lectures interesting and cracks jokes. If you miss class make sure to get work and handouts that you missed because you can get behind. There was no test and no book required for this class. I would definitely recommend taking a class with Mike, I've took all my English classes with him!

Mike is hilarious, his class environment is very relaxed. I took a Hybrid class with him and there was simple homework to do online. The hw begins to be ways to help YOU with the essays he assigns which was helpful. 5 essays including the final. He gives clear instructions and examples on how he wants them done + Allows work to be turned in late.

The reading material he used for writing assignments was not interesting. It made it challenging to write about because he had a certain expectation based on his own opinion of the material. Teaching the general principles of writing essays and research papers was good, but it would've been helpful to be able to write on topics of interest.

Mr Dixon " Mike" Is amazing! I am an older student coming back to school after about 28 years. He is extremely helpful. I would recommend him to anyone. Class is fun, and he is just an overall good guy. He cares about his students. Class is semi relaxed, if you put in the work its a easy A.

I've always been bad in English but this is the first time I get a good grade in English. If you show that you care by coming to class and giving him your rough drafts to check he most likely will give you a good grade. 5 essays total. Final is 3 pages hand written super easy. He hates textbooks and is all about conspiracies. Write about gov=A+

Mike Dixon is a cool English teacher. He has a good sense of humor. He doesn't use a textbook,but he gives lots of handouts which is very useful. You have to take notes all the time because he'll let you use it for midterm/finals. His essays are a little complex but he explains it well and he'll check it for you.I recommend to take his class.

No books used/required for the course! Instead it was handouts. Easy, great class exercises, light homework. Dixon was easy to understand and he wasn't complicated! About 4-5 essays to do throughout class - grade based on this + midterm + final + extra credit and attendance! Great teacher!

He was easy to follow and stay awake in a 6-9pm class. He lectures and throws in some jokes to see who's paying attention and just keeps going. Found myself laughing alone alot. Everything he writes you need to write. Only essays in this class & he will let you correct your mistakes for full credit. I hate english but i loves this class

There's a lot that can be said of how great he was as an educator (not just a teacher), but I will leave it at this... He will invest in you as much as you invest in the class. By this I mean that if you just want to get through the class, he will just get you through the class, but if you want to excel and be challenged he will push you to do so.

This teacher is extremely funny and easy going. I didn't show up for about a month and my grade didn't even suffer. I'm not a terrible writer, so it could be because composition comes easy to me. Theres never any tension in the class, and the criteria is always somewhat witty and humorous.

Mike Dixon is a Great teacher just dont call him Mr. Dixon he hates it. He is always making jokes. Is super easy going teacher down to earth and helpful, he goes out of his way to help, I learned so much from taking his class this summer. I am looking forward to taking Eng V01 with him.
