Dr. Hood is definitely passionate about what he teaches but doesn't seem to understand that not everyone is. He plays favorites A LOT and is a tough grader. The tests are easy, and its not hard to pass the class but it certainly itsn't enjoyable.

The man should be doing something else. rude, obnoxious, self-rightious, thinks hes all that and knows everything. He cannot understand that other people have interests other than his own. shame someone like that is teaching the next generation.

I took Honors Argumentative Prose then American Lit with Dr. Hood...I can't stand the man, but I have to admit that the class is an easy A. Just make sure that you present a good argument and back up your opinion--he doesn't really care about MLA or word choice. I recommend that you take this class if you're good at cranking out 5-paragraph essays.

Great Books with Dr. Hood has been my worst experience of any class at Belmont Abbey College. Dr. Hood is very unclear in his lecture style which makes the class very difficult to follow and understand. I would not recommend taking Great Books with Dr. Hood.

Mike Hood Super Genius, every time I walked into his class this it what would cross my mind. He seemed to want you to talk and argue with him, Rhetoric was what he got his degree in. A wonderful man and a real joy to know.

WORST TEACHER EVER!!! If he didn't think you were what he consisdered smart, you could answer every question correctly, and he would still say things like "mmm, not quite" and then go to one of his "pets" and they would say EXACTLY what you just said, and he would say "Exactly" So, unclear, so unhelpful, hated all of his classes.
