Not the best prof, but he wants the students to engage. Not clear at all on grading criteria. He lists it all but doesnt seem to follow his own criteria. I still havent received feedback on any of the papers Ive turned in and its been 4 months.

Really liked this professor. I am not an English fan but I really enjoyed his class! I would definitely take his class again. Only bad thing is, he is slow at grading. Could take 1-2 months to get a paper back. But I highly recommend him!

Be prepared to never get your essays back, never get your emails responded to, never get feedback until literally the last week of class, and excuses. Lots of excuses. Impossible to improve on your writing because you're never told what you're doing wrong. Maybe future semesters will be better but mine was awful.

I liked the class much more than I thought I would. He made things interesting but did stray from the syllabus quite a bit. The class is very easy going and free flowing. An overall positive experience.

It's easy, but I don't love the class. The criteria was pretty unclear. Then again, there's worse things than an easy A in a required class. Things to know about the class... he's very into creative writing, the class is not very structured, he doesn't let you use computers in class. Takes a long time getting back to you, but he's nice.

Fantastic professor! Never used to be interested in English or the art of it, but Mike taught me how to really enjoy the class! Directions on papers weren't always super specific, but it was more creative and open for personal interpretation. I found my self looking forward to this class; great guy, good teacher, enjoyable material

Mike is awesome! The class is not difficult at all, all you have to do is write four papers, all of which are actually interesting and fun to write. His lectures are actually pretty interesting too! Take him if you can!

I thought this professor was really great!! I never thought that I would get so much out of a English 102 class but I did!! His discussions helped me in my other classes and the class was not very hard. Highly recommended!!

I signed up for Mike's English class because I read here it was mostly free-writing and it was easy. At first I discounted some of what we covered because it was sort of open-ended philosophical discussion (which I'm not really into), but I noticed after a few classes that I was actually applying what he taught to my other classes and even life.

This guy is really cool and chill. He is younger and can relate to the students. He is also a creative writer so he doesn't really care that much about grammar and other things as long as your papers flow well. This is from taking his English 101 class. I would recommend him for a teacher any day.
