I took Torre's Art Appreciation class online. All in all, he's alright. There's a handful of spelling errors/grammatical issues in his power points, but nothing that makes it impossible to understand. The tests very closely followed the reading material. The videos you have to watch will put you to sleep. Pretty easy class though.

uses his own power points for curriculum. I love the content of the class and the things that I learned, but his spelling and grammar errors and extremely disorganized material is beyond frustrating! I can't understand why he doesn't have someone edit his curriculum if he can't spell, and he can't!

Very knowledgeable of Art History, and can go into depth discussing more than just the art. He knows details of the artists, themselves, and their lives. Which really helped me to learn and remember their art. I was worried about taking the class b/c of other's comments n here, saying he is anti-Christian, but I didnt see that at all from him.

Slideshows everyday, doesn't take attendance, pretty laid back. Never used a textbook. Can use study guide on all tests including final. Some notes/slideshows are hard to follow along on study guide, the names are usually out of order. Overall, pretty good professor, offers to help every class time.

I have this prof for art history 1, the guy might be better off just doing pottery, he consistenetly states facts that are incorrect, really not a strong teaching style, he just reads his unclear unorganized powerpoints and i feel like a 4th grader being taught how to sing the alphabet in this class in that he assumes we are all idiots

I took the class, as my area of study is art. The poor guy has a big chip on his shoulder about religion. And, puts down western religions, mainly Christian in his supposed "art lecture" class time. When asked politely if this would be how class would be during break, I was told that all religion was "nothing." I guess he does not know of ethos.

Nice guy, great with pottery. He could use some stronger communication/people skills. I also found him to be a little creepy... teachers winking at me makes me uncomfortable. The class needed more demonstrations and we never got to use the wheel like the syllabus and class description said.

His lectures are boring. He has terrible spelling and just reads through his power point presentations. That said he is super nice and fun. Can use notes on the three tests you have so you don't have to go to class to pass. nice guy just boring how he teaches but he tries.

Mike is the best. he is helpful and lets you do what you feel you should make. he is willing to take his own time and help you with your work. such as me he is helping me with my wedding cake topper. he doesn't have to be he is willing to. he is the best.

LOVED the class, LOVED him! He's SO funny, very laid back. Always talking and joking with us. The only down is when he did give instructions, he was pretty boring, but other than that...totally AWESOME! Played AWESOME music during class, swore in class, told HILLARIOUS stories! I HIGHLY recomend one of his classes!
