Comment:

Dr. Soe is really funny, super sharp and hidden gem. Math is my worst subject. Instead of spoon feeding he teaches is by concept & too bad he won't earn a lot of "likes" from students. If you really get what he is teaching, it reduces the need for doing a lot of practice problems and my grades improved. Exam q's come from book, HW, & class.

Comment:

Dr. Soe is an excellent professor. You have to ignore the negative reviews since they are biased. I took this course 20 years ago at another college and they did not give partial credit and quickly you ended up with a C or below. Dr. Soe gives you every chance to do well and has my respect. If you don't do well it's your own fault.

Comment:

He usually only does 4 exams plus the final for tests. The exams and the final is straight from the homework, notes, and book examples. All you have to do is actually do the homework and understand the physics, if you do not show physics on the exams he will take off points. He can come off as a little intimidating but he is an amazing professor.

Comment:

Dr. Soe is one of my favorite professors at RSU. Others intimidated me before I took his class, because they said it was awful. He is a great professor who not only understands the subject but can teach it to students. He will help you, and like others have said, do the homework, show up to lectures and labs and you will be fine. Put in the work.

Dr. Soe is hilarious. I always enjoyed his class. The material is difficult at times - but an A is easily doable. Just rework the homework a couple times before tests and don't be afraid to visit his office hours.

Dr. Soe is a great physics teacher. He understands the subject intimately and passes that knowledge on to you the student, he does many in class examples and works out all the physics in each. his tests are five questions so be sure to study up first with the in class examples then the homework. homework and labs are free points so just do them.

When I went to his office, which was not very often, he was too busy to help me. His tests are 5 questions and worth 20 points. I think this is the hardest class I have ever taken. I am not impressed. To clarify, I did the work.

Dr. Soe was a great instructor who rewarded hard work. He made it clear that work would be necessary to succeed in the class and that practice may be necessary to understand complex concepts. He was always available during office hours, and, thanks to his help, I received an A. The class is intense, and he doesn't offer extra credit or curve tests.

This is a very intense class, unfortunately, Dr. Soe isn't much help when you need some. The tutor is not readily available so self teaching is a must. Retaking the test really helps, but it's a real time consuming course. His method of teaching is opposite of my paid tutor, too bad I have to pay double just to pass the class.

Takes about a week to get used to his accent. Dr. Soe is really really really smart, but his teaching isn't always up to par. Overall a great guy and he's probably the funniest professor I've had. Always let us redo tests we did bad on, which saved everybody's grade.

Comment:

As long as you know your basic Trig, it's easy. Accent is occasionally difficult to understand but doesn't take long to get used to. Let us retake every test if needed, and then let us retake any one test again. He actually has a sense of humor. I was a smart allec to him all the time and sometimes he would crack a smile and dish it back at me.

I have never had any difficulties with school thus far in my education, until this freakin class! It is very frustrating, and he gives no partial credit for the page and a half problems that are on his tests. He assumes that you should know more that what you actually do,and makes you feel dumb if you don't know.I think he knows too much.
