I took an online class with him he would last minute post things and would take forever to grade as well as grade very tough. It was his first online class apparently but he was way too relaxed about it and way too hard when it came to grading.

I took his IQL class and it was horrible. He insulted the class countless times, he would give backhanded comments when he was explaining how to do different math problems. He made students feel stupid when they didn't knowunderstand how to do the math. Math is not my best subject and it was embarrassing sitting in this class listening to him.

Mitch is a nice guy and he's really understanding but his class is kind of boring. The quizzes are 3 parts and you can use your laptop for one and then the last is usually take-home. He's a good professor and you'll learn a lot if you pay attention, but its a bit hard to because he just talks the whole time. Most of the math is common sense.

Comment:

Mitch Speaks is a good professor and a friendly man. His teaching style is very clear and straight forward and the class is very easy as long as you use common sense and pay attention in class (it can get boring, sorry). All in all the class is set up to work well for the students and if you do poorly in the class you can consider yourself stupid.

Dry material made somewhat better by the prof. He's straitforward with what he wants and gives samples of all the work. Didn't assign readings. I think he's an ok guy who tries hard to make it interesting.

this guy is hilarious! the class is not overly easy, but not tooooo difficult. you have to show up to get credit, and there are a few papers and you just gotta pay a little attention and do SOME studying for exams. he's a little too easy to get off track during class, but he definitely knows what he's talking about.

He didn't get to know his students, but he knows what he's doing and will help if you ask for it. Knows what he's teaching and doesn't grade hard at all. His exams are a little difficult, you HAVE to study to do well. If the class as a whole doesn't perform well he scales grades. the essays are graded easy.

By far the worst class i've taken at Keene. He is rude, and often goes past class-time. He is unfair with grading, and not clear with assignments. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM.

Class is hard but he is clear on what is expected. He jokes a lot, but since the subject is dry it really helps (although he does sometimes go on a bit too long!) SOme people complain that he is "rude", but in reality he is just honest. A lot of the students just don't try.

research methods was very hard. thinks he is funny but he is insulting and negative. rambles during his lectures therefore leaving you to not kno what he talked about. can not be reached outside of class and if you can get a hold of him he can not help you at all. WORST CLASS OF MY CAREER HERE

He is an awesome professor, always joking and keeping the class lectures interesting. The tests can be a little hard, but take good notes and study them and you'll be fine. I wouldn't have even bothered to buy the book if I had known how little we would use it.

Research Methods was definately my least favorite psych class to date. The lectures are very unclear and you leave wondering what you accomplished since most of the time is spent on random topics. The lab portion is an easy A if you attend class.
