Very fair prof, but the exams are difficult and require you to know every detail of many works of art. The exams themselves are pretty short and don't contain too many paintings to identify, which makes it harder (there are about 15 on the exam out of the 60 to memorize). He is a really nice person though and very helpful. Not an easy electitive

This professor is great! He explains everything to a t and is excited about what he teaches. The workload was spread out nicely and he gives you interesting articles to read to tie in the material. He also takes you to the gallery which is great because you can see the work first hand. Absolutely my new favourite prof at Carleton.

Great Prof, really nice. Gives lectures that are clear. Did a great job in covering the 19th century although it was a survey course! One essay to give at the end of the course which is quite easy if you go to class. Pop quizzes so look at the videos and only four reading responses.

This guy knows how to teach. It's not an easy class - there is a lot to remember. But he makes things as clear as possible. Posts notes and slideshows. Actually wants you to do well. Teaches you how to write essays and papers along with course work. Adjusts assignment evaluation to give you the best grade. great prof

I had professor Frank teach both of my 1st year ARTH courses. He is a great professor who really makes class ineteresting and fun. I enjoyed going to class every week and looked forward hearing his lectures. He does have a slight stutter, however it does not intrude on his clarity. He knows what he is talking about. (and responds to emails quickly)

An interesting subject that I found fascinating and yet a great challenge; I never persuade art (which is why the history was what interested me). I didn't express my thoughts enough in the way he wanted me too towards the perception of art. He sees something in Art not many do, which is a rare talent that has made him irreplaceable.

A+! This class covers some pretty boring information if you aren't an art history major. But he really tries to cover all bases and actually asks the students if everyone is following, and sincerely answers your questions if you are a little off course. Try to find that with other profs? pretty difficult. Most of them like to listen to themselves

i love him! he's totally adorable and helpful and sweet. i had him when he used to teach medieval art and i LOVED IT! also, i run into at the grocery store all the time and he always stops to chat with me. plus he's got that nerdy/sexy thing going on:)
