Ethnic Studies with Rima is an amazing course. She teaches us like a real seminar, and even though it is three hours long (!) we all love coming to class. It's one of the best classes at LC. Go Ethnic Studies!

Never had so many issues with a prof changing the syllabus, not returning papers, not showing up for class. I wanted to like Rima bc the class was interesting and she had good reviews, but these people are totally off - they must be ppl who like classes where a 'discussion' is standing on a soapbox expulsing liberal ideology. Unprofessional, mean.

Whoever wrote that last one is lying. Professor DasGupta doesn't even teach SOAN 255! And she is really great. Fun classes and really amazing readings. She's the best in SOAN.

Really people? Despite my effort/interest, I was disappointed. She is biased, unclear, unhelpful, doesn't return papers, shows favoritism and is strikingly unwelcoming of different views. Surprising that in a class so based on participation she often doesn't show up herself. (Even during a student participation worth 30% of your overall grade!)

Rima is a wonderful Professor. I was certainly intimidated by her at first, but, after a few classes, I grew to love her style. She is funny and knows how to give a good, interesting lecture. Always willing to help with essays. Overall I great class. I would recommend her intro to sociology class any day.

Rima is a wonderful professor. She is extremely professional about her job as a professor, but in a good way. She was intimidating at first, but once you realize her style of teaching is just professional then its all good. This isnt to say that she is not friendly or nice. I love Rima, I highly recommend taking her for Intro to Soc.

This Ethnic Studies seminar is the reason we come to LC. It was small, personal and super informative. Rima was great. She taught us a wide array of really amazing stuff and kept us laughing. She's really well informed too. And she even fed us cause it was an evening class! Take Ethnic Studies!!!

ive had her before and have always really wanted to like her. not after this semster. she will not respond to your emails, will miss class, show favortism, laugh at you when you are wrong... theres really no other word than ****y to decsribe her demeanor. also, she takes FOREVER to return things (and sometimes doesn't do it at all). she's a NO GO.

Rima is fiesty-sharp and quick. she'll catch you off guard. Don't **** around in her class. She's funny and I wish she was more accessable. Unfortunately, she sticks very closely to the roles of teacher and student and its hard to break through. Lectures were clear, informative, and engaging. Listen carefully and you will do well in this class.

Rima is fabulous. She knows her stuff, and she 's friendly but not easy! Do not slack in her class. If you work hard, it's a really great experience. People expect her to be easy because she laughs alot, but she is a really serious grader. Ask for help. She's great in office hours. Take any of her classes!!!

I enjoyed Rima at first because she seemed made class fun and laughed a lot. However, I soon found a strong bias in the material she taught. The wording of her essay questions didn't allow for any straying from her point of view, which I found very, very distressing. But if you're as liberal as most LC students, this shouldn't be a problem for you.
