If you like History, the easier it is. Textbooks are needed so you can cite them when taking the mid-term and final, they're the only tests given. The final and mid-term are given before hand, making the focus of studying easier. Hardest part was keeping up with her pace and memorizing keywords. Classes aren't mandatory, but very helpful to attend.

A very smart lady, but EXTREMELY fast. Very hard to keep with pace. (She will let you record if you ask her). Tests are like all History Exams, keyword and essay. Would recommend to take if you like history.

Lectures are slightly scatter brained but interesting none the less. Managed to pass with a be with doing little to no readings at all. TAs are very helpful. Tells you exactly what will be on the exams

She talks too fast when lecturing sometimes so it makes it hard to write down all the notes. She likes to make use of the media which makes learning rather interesting. There is a lot of reading in this class, but it is possible to still get a good grade in this class without reading all of it.

McGarry seems like a nice professor but she is unorganized with her lectures. Although she provides outlines, she still jumps all over the place. She sounds like she's about to finish a sentence and cuts herself off to talk about something else. you'll be frustrated when yu're taking notes b/c she talks way too fast .

One of my favorite professors. I will admit there was a lot of reading, however you could skim the readings and still pass. The tests where not hard as long as you memorized dates. I loved the way she taught, and I found it very interesting, even though I am not a history buff. Definately recomend taking this class!

hated this class! She talks about history like everyone in the room has a Ph.D and she will not slow down in her lectures. Her powerpoints are useless. they're bassically words for her to remember what to talk about next, not for students to gain anything from them. She gives keywords and an essay for midrem/final which basically come from lect

Professor McGarry is great! She is very helpful and her history seminar is not hard at all, there is alot of reading but usually 90% was interesting. She makes you write weekly responses to the readings that are about 2 pgs & the final paper is only 10pgs. I really loved her class and think she cares alot about her students.

She is wayyy liberal and hates anything that challenges her political views. I had to rewrite my term paper, it was way lame. I busted balls in this class, but it paid off. Peace loving conservatives avoid this class.

Pretty good, sometimes gets a little too caught-up in an idea and brushes off what you have to say, but knows her stuff and is interesting to listen to.
