Comment:

Yes her class is extremely tough, and the proficiency exams are very intimidating. But if she did not high extremely high expectations, then the quality of students would suffer. She trains you to be very very very comfortable on brass secondary instruments to model to your students anytime. If you don't believe in this method, change your major.

She IS a good teacher. If she told you weren't going to be a good teacher and you got through the program anyway that doesn't mean you're a good teacher. There are lots of bad teachers with degrees. Get over yourselves. I do think she can be very abrasive, however, she is not unethical and would NOT "do anything to fail someone."

She's a great teacher and extremely helpful, but only if you're on her good side. If you manage to make it on her bad side, she can be quite harsh. My advice - don't slack off, and she'll treat you just fine.

Dr. Weaver is a great professor. She is tough, but that is only to weed out the bad teachers or the ones that don't care, because she believes that bad teachers are a big problem. A failing letter grade of a C is not ridiculous. If one wants to be a music educator, they should be proficient in everything, not just average. Great professor!

Dr. Weaver is wonderful, inspiring and extremely helpful if she likes you. However, if for some reason you rub her the wrong way, and there are many wrong way to rub her, she will do everything she can to make sure you fail her class. She is cruel and sarcastic in her comments and does everything she can to make your proficiencies intimidating.

It wouldn't hurt students to prepare. Dr. Weaver is a very knowledgeable and effective professor. Has anyone ever thought that her observations of certain students being unsuccessful is the result of the students' inadequate demonstration of commitment? Hm.

Please do not let this professor ruin your dreams. She told me to drop out of college, and that I was what was wrong with America. I proved her wrong, and so should you. Also, she does really look like Janet Reno, to whoever mentioned that previously.

Seems to be the trend. She told me that I would never be a good teacher also. Because of her, I gave up my dream. The only thing I truely loved. I wish I never would have listened to her. Her only goal is to weed people out, not make great music educators. My advice, if you have to take her and she tells you you'll never be good...prove her wrong.

She tried to convince me to change my major but I didn't. I graduated on December 11, 2005 with a Bachelor of Music in Education. Don't listen to her because she tells the students the same thing all the time.

She gets joy of out making people cry and feel horrible about themselves. I went in to get help from her every single day, and she failed me (a "fail" is a C in her absurd program) and told me I would never be any good. I changed majors. She gives the music department a horrible name. My new department knows I will be a wonderful educator.
