Professora Rivas is such a kind and enjoyable person! But what I think makes her class specifically so awesome from a traditional spanish course is how she really goes the extra step. Whether its for your studying, really helping you learn, and going in-depth in spanish speaking countries. I also really love how clear her grading and test system is

Monica is amazing! I've taken her for 3 Spanish classes and will miss her. You have 5 tests, some homework that isn't graded and a final. She cares and genuinely wants you to succeed. She's always so interested in what you have to say and I would take her 1000 times over. Take her if you can!!!

Professor Mónica is the best professor I ever met in the United States! She is so inspiring and her lectures were a total pleasure. She puts so much in her lessons, with her heart and inspiration! She is very kind, very professional. and you can tell right away she enjoys teaching! The structure is awesome, she is awesome, everyone loves her!

I took Spanish 1 as a GE course because I took it in high school and thought it would be an easy A. After taking that class with Monica, I took Spanish 2 and 3 with her, and am now aiming to become a fluent Spanish speaker. She encouraged me and made learning Spanish a hobby rather than a chore to transfer. I highly recommend her, she is amazing.

Prof. Rivas is one of the best instructors I have ever had. This class exceeded my expectations. The instructor clearly loves to teach and goes the extra mile to make sure complex concepts are clear in people's minds. Instructor is highly respected by students, fair, humorous, extremely interesting. I plan to take her SP2 class in the future.

One word, AMAZING! She is so nice and helpful. Always has a smile on her face and is willing to work with you no matter what concerns you have. I've had her before for other Spanish classes and is just the best. Pretty easy classes just study and her reviews are extremely helpful. I'd highly recommend her.

Very good professor who actually looks at the culture of countries and not just the language. Lots of worksheets to help you and very open to questions. I took the accelerated course so it is a tad fast and missing a day might be difficult, but its a good class. The online lab is a pain in the butt due to the # of hours required on it however

Dr. Rivas is AMAZINGLY AWESOME! No doubt. She's super sweet and helpful. Had her for an independent study course and she helped me out with many things. I've had her for Span 1,2 last Spring 11' and she's still the same great professor. Petty easy too. If you want to learn Español and have fun and laugh a lot while doing so, she's your girl.
